Just saying hi!

Hello everyone I hope your summer is starting off well.

I am the proud "humom" of two beautiful tortoise named Noelle (14 yrs old) and Onyx (9 weeks). Onyx just joined our family this past saturday. I'm so excited to have found a place to talk about cats all day!

Can't wait to get to know you guys! 

Oh, wow, Onyx really is a new cat on the block.  How are she and Noelle getting along?

Things are going way better than I expected!

We are a little tight on space here as we live in an apartment so I got creative with the separation and it failed lol.

I was trying to separate Onyx from Noelle, but Onyx wanted to be seen. I have the little one in an old pack n play crib using the bassinet insert as a cover so she can't climb out. I had put blankets over the sides so that Noelle could smell her without seeing her but Onyx moved the blanket and Noelle saw her and hissed a few times  .

They both are interested but cautious. Noelle looks at her and walks away and Onyx just looks at her in admiration but respects the space. They haven't gotten up close and personal yet and I'm not rushing the process. This is my first time having two cats at once so this is a new adventure for all of us. Noelle was a bottle baby and my very first kitten, so having Onyx around is so refreshing.

Welcome to TCS!   It sounds like things are going well between Noelle and Onyx.  You're wise to take your time with the introduction but hopefully soon you'll have two torties playing together.  Be sure to post lots of photos!    Hope to see you, Noelle and Onyx around the forums.

I am so pleased with how they are adjusting. Theres been no hissing and Noelle even walks by her. Im such a proud mama lol

And this is Onyx, she is 9 weeks according to the shelter but Im guessing 7-8 weeks shes just over 1.5lbs
