hello i had my cat neutered and some vaccines yesterday we got to the clinic and they told us that he couldnt go home just yet they said he was bleeding and the vet wanted to make sure it stopped before we took him is this normal?

they told me it was because his sack was too big and its normal for big cats he is 1 year old and 9 pounds i just wanted to make sure

so we got home and he was still bleeding a bit had some water and slept for hours he woke up at night the bleeding had stopped and ate and had alot ALOT of water and ate very well he didnt vomit at all.

so my concern is that he hasnt pooped at all or peed? is this normal? its been a day and nothing im worried please help id like to know if this is happened to any of you before?

also his incision site is red there is a bit of swelling ? im sorry maybe im paranoid but the clinic is closed today and its pretty far to take him i would just like to know if everything is normal? thank you pls answer

Its fairly normal. When I had my big boy neutered I had the same issue. As long as he doesn't seem distressed and there isn't a lot of swelling and bleeding there isn't a huge issue. Just keep a close eye. :)

He should. Keep an eye on the litter box and the incision site. He should potty soon. :)

Since he was fasting prior to the procedure, there's not much there to come out.  Once he's back on his regular food routine, he should be back to normal litter box habits.

Just watch for him to pee, it can be dangerous for cats to go too long without urinating
