There is a pretty tame mother and 4 kittens (eyes are fully developed and they move around quickly) that are under one portion of my deck. I've been trying to lure them into a Tupperware container with bits of chicken, but it doesn't seem to be the ideal trap. Is there anything else I can try, apart from purchasing spring traps from a hunting store? I want to make sure these 4 babies are healthy and safe.

A humane trap is the easiest.  You can sometimes borrow them from rescue groups or humane societies.  You need to be sure that the babies are weaned or old enough to eat solid food.  You also want to be sure to trap the Mom and get her spayed.  If not she will just continue to have litter after litter.  The kittens can usually be spayed/neutered around 8 weeks or 2 lbs.
