I have recently adopted a kitten. He has recieved all his shots and has been treated topically for ear mites. I gave him the last treatment yesterday in the form of a treat. The ear mites are still present and its only been one day but i was just wondering how long they take to go away after treatment?

I would call and ask your vet this question.    One of my cats had a bad case of ear mites when she was a kitten that took 3 rounds of treatment before they went away. My cat had a ear drops and an ear wash I was given to use at home. We also did weekly follow-up appointments with our vet.   We had to go through 3 different types of topical treatment before they finally went away.  Ear mites are very treatable but can also be difficult to get rid of. Please follow-up up with your vet if you have any reason to think the ear mites issue is not fully resolved.  My cat also was being treated for a URI and an ear infection along with the ear mites.  Starbuck is now a happy healthy nine year old and never had ear mites again.

My 2 year old cat Casey also had ear mites when he was a kitten but his case was much less difficult to deal with than Starbuck's was.  He only required one round of treatment with ear drops and we did not have to use an ear wash for him.
