My cat had an abscess on his head and i've treated it at home. But he got another one (not the same spot). The one i've treated hasn't healed yet, how long should i wait before treating the other abscess or should i not wait at all

Hi, and welcome to TCS :wavey:

If your cat is getting abscesses like this, you really need to get him to the vet ASAP to work out what's going on. He might need antibiotics, and anyway, you need to know if there's any underlying issue that's causing the problem.

He spends some time outside and gets into fights, that's how he got those abscesses. He's gotten many before, in his legs mostly and this time on his head. I've opened the abscess for him, like i usually do and i clean it for him. After a few days it starts to heal normally. But i just took care of one abscess , so is it okay to take care of the other one at the moment or should i wait till the other one is healed?

Is he neutered? Intact males are far more likely to fight with other cats. If he's getting injured a lot then he might well be better off as an indoor only cat. Fighting is pretty miserable for them, and regular abscesses won't be doing him any good either :eek:hno:

Do try for a vet. There are low cost options available, and he might need antibiotics.[article="32915"][/article][article="22304"][/article][article="30395"][/article]
