Good morning!
 And Happy Friday!

I'm on a 3-day weekend. The appliance guru is coming in today to check the oven out, since I obviously am not smart enough to figure this out on my own. I was just going to come home at lunch, but figured, oh the heck with it and took the whole day off. There's always something to be done around here and I can find plenty to do.

The question this morning: What was the last new appliance (or new-to-you appliance) that you bought and when did you buy it?

Last year our old Whirlpool dishwasher bit the dust. After extensive research and about two months or so of washing dishes by hand (I despise washing dishes), I bought a Bosch dishwasher. It's been almost a full year since the dishwasher was installed and I have to say that we really like the Bosch. (It doesn't do a great job of drying plastics, but we knew that when we bought it and we don't tend to use a lot of plastic items anyway.) It's been a good dishwasher so far and we are pleased.

A new washing machine about 8 years ago.  The  one I had was leaking and I got tired of moving it and mopping every time I did laundry...

washing machine and dryer 8 years ago. whirlpool front loader. we miss our top loader. the front loader doesn't wash as clean and though it saves on water we cant put as much in the drum. the new dryer takes forever to dry. the old one was 35 minutes and it was done. we have had to replace the motor on the dryer last fall. after all the costs of parts next time it dies we will ditch it and buy a used old Maytag dryer. those always work the best.

A toaster about 18 months ago from Amazon.  It lasted for four months - I probably used it less than 20 times.

I think it was the mini food processor
Same!

Bought a mini bright orange Cuisinet. It was half price on the Williams Sonoma site plus, I got another $10 off from a perks program I belong to via my payroll company.  Just got it delivered a few days ago.

Oh, if the question was referring to a major appliance the last thing I bought (well my parents bought for me) was the washer and dryer 6 years ago. I had just bought a condo and all the kitchen appliances were included so I just needed a washer and dryer.

I'm an apartment dweller, so I don't have to buy, but my last new appliance was a water heater, about 3 years ago.  Mine arced, blew up. took out the power for 12 apartments for 48 hours and took out half a block for about 8 hours.  Or at least, that is what the power company claims.  The ground under my apartment was actually blown open from the high power wires.  Now me, I think that their wires arced and blew out my water heater.  SO...I got a  new water heater, and my downstairs neighbor got new carpeting because it flooded her apartment,

The last appliance we bought was a Speed Queen washer. It has been several years, not sure when.

We bought a new washer and dryer, Kenmore front loaders.  They were expensive because only one dryer model could have the hinge on the door put on the other side.  Our hook-ups are backwards.  The people we bought our house from tool theirs with them.

Washer and dryer last summer, almost exactly a year ago. Whirlpool HE top loader, I love them. The washer is low water so it has cut down on our water bill a lot.

A three-year-old dishwasher from my neighbor who was renovating his home. Mine konked out on me only about a week earlier, so I consider this fortuitous!

I'm allergic to the kitchen, I try to stay out of there as I usually injure myself. I think the last kitchen appliance I bought was our fridge, about 6 years ago.

We live in an apartment so everything is supplied besides a washer and dryer. We rented for a long time but was given the option to buy our rentals in February so we jumped at the opportunity. It just feels good to own something out right instead of making payments all the time.

Now that I remember, I am wrong in what I wrote here. Actually the last appliance I bought was a Kitchen Aid Mixer. Even so, both of these two thing are my favorite possessions. I love my Speed Queen Washer and my Kitchen Aid Mixer.

We bought a washer last winter if your talking major appliances.

I also bought a new toaster oven last month with my Kohls cash.
I burnt my wrist on a toaster oven when I was a kid and never liked them after that; until our toaster died a couple years ago so I started using the toaster oven. Now I prefer it.
