Hello, lately I`ve found myself with a flea infestation in my house, they eat me and my cats alive. Im taking them to the vet next week for him to tell me what flea pills to give them, since the drops have failed me. However, I am now panicking because I found nasty sores behind my male`s ears, he`s always scratching them again and again. My question is, are the sores the result of his body being infested with fleas? Can it really wait for next week? He is acting normal and active, but I am in panic.

He is also the cat who wont let me monitor and examine his body daily, despite our extremely close bond, my female lets me examine her body all I want. This is also a problem when I try to pick the fleas by hand, he uses extreme force to escape my grasp, and these are the results, him being all eaten and the female looking good despite maybe a few tiny sores.

Could be he has a flea allergy, or could be he is just being eaten alive and scratches to relieve the itching, like you or I scratch at  mosquito bites.  Either way, everyone needs relief.  But just be aware that just getting them a pill or dip or whatever is not going to solve the issue,  You need to get rid of all the fleas that have taken up residence in your home too.  they are problably in your carpet, in your couch, wherever they can hide out.  Or at least they may have laid their eggs there.  Discuss how to get rid of them ALL with your Vet.

Maybe this article will help:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/262488/help-please-flea-infestation
