Our kitty fell off the couch playing with his brother kitty is 7weeks roughly

he isnt meowing when hes walking he is walking on it with a small limp he is eating drinking using the litter(only meowing he did was within the first few minutes after he fell)

he will let us touch his leg till we hit a sore spot both legs seem to be the same length he still plays with his brother

unsure if it broken or sprained or has the pain like we do when we roll our ankles(we do have laminate flooring)

We have seen him a few times carefully jump down from the little houses made for them and stretch his back leg and stand on his hind legs to try and get on to a kitchen chair

I am just looking for some advice and opinions as we cannot get into the vet till end of the week do you think its more of that sprain line should we maybe wrap it up for a little bit for him?

its been awhile since we had pets and our children love our kittens dearly and they are sad that our kitty is hurt

thanks for all advice and opinions

(i do have a couple videos of him walking as well

If you are able to share your videos that would be very helpful.  From what you describe it sounds more like a sprain of some kind but it can be hard to tell with cats.  If he is not walking and jumping around by the following day I would be worried and see if you can arrange a vet appointment for the soonest you can get there - just in case there is some kind of fracture.

Cats and kittens don't usually take well to being strappd or wrapped up with anything and it can really stress them out.  What might be a good idea is to try and minimize what your little one can climb and jump about on until you see he is walking properly on his leg.

hi i cant seem to attach a video of him is there another way i can do this (ive been so worried about him but alot of ppl and info are saying its like a bad sprain and bruise because hes walking/limping on it and putting the pressure on that leg)

i have noticed him today hopping on both back legs and hes using it cautiously no meowing though when he walks just has the limp to it still playing and eating and using the litter he isnt throwing up still have not noticed swelling when touching the sore leg there seems to be only one small spot where he tries to nip and scratch

today he seems to be playing more running hoping on the back legs he still has a small limp when walking but i would say he is more playful today and he does stretch it out and is using it more when he climbs up the little play house we bought

Sounds more like a sprain at this point so fingers crossed.   The video is really helpful too - also dangerously cute (esp that little eow
 ).

Thank you for the positive up date.  Kittens often manage to strain their little muscles when they are leaping and bounding around, but it always pays to be cautious and check things out when you see them limping because bone breaks do happen.

Enjoy watching him grow and get in to more and more mischief.
