Hello fellow cat parents!
Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jayde, I'm currently residing in Houston, and I am a cat mom to three awesome cats/kittens. Mulligan is my stepcatughter and our first cat. My BF Matt found her under a truck engine a little over a year before we met. The truck engine must have really trumaized her because she is a sketchy little booger! She doesn't like new company and hides when new people come over. People do not even realize we have her until their third or fourth visit when she is used to them thus comes out of hiding. She's also our narcisstic cat child. She watches her weight, constantly grooms, loves to sit in front of the mirror and watch herself for hours.
Mulligan: 2 1/2 years old
Our next cat is BMO. About a week after Matt and I started dating I had become so jealous of his cat I wanted one of my own. We found BMO on Craigslist, saw her photo and knew she was the kitten for me. Her previous owners waited until her and her siblings were at least 12 weeks old before finding forever homes. BMO is the oddity in the bunch. She begs for food constantly by throwing herself on her back, even at times passing out patiently waiting for snacks. She taught herself fetch, bring me a makeshift from plastic bags ball when she wants me to toss it for her to retrieve it. She hates to be pet, rubbed, cuddled and anything that resembles affection and let's you know by letting out a huge disgruntled noise when you touch her. Everytime she lays with us we manage to turn it into a celebration. That's how rare it happens. She's fabulous and funny.
BMO: 13 months
Our last one.... For a long time, Captin Rufus. We got Rufus a few weeks ago on a whim. We went to the local Strawberry Festival and the city just happened to have a trailer where they held animals for adoption. We saw Rufus in a little corner with his siblings. All of them looked pathetic and riddled with fleas. After serious consideration on the logics of adding another cat to our family, affordability for its healthcare, how our other cat babies will react, Matt and I decided to adopt the little critter. We took him home and gave him a much needed flea bath.... But the fleas was the least of our worries. He was fatigue, throwing up, running nose, sneezing, and had massive diarrhea. He also wasn't eating. So off to the vet he went where they loaded him up on meds and sent him home on a special diet. It's been about two weeks and he is climbing everything and super hyperactive. Admittedly, he turned out to be quite the fixer upper but well worth it!
