Hello! I was wondering if anyone could help me out... I noticed a missing patch of hair by my cat's whiskers yesterday. He's a 1.5 year-old indoor cat, no contact with other pets, sometimes goes out on the balcony (5th floor apartment). Could he possibly have scratched a patch of hair off, or should I be worried about ringworm infections, etc? I'll bring him to the vet, but I might only be able to get an appointment next week and any thoughts would be very appreciated. Thanks!

That is so weird looking! I've never seen that before but I would GUESS ringworm. Definitely make an appointment to get an answer and treatment plan.

Thanks. I'll post more info after seeing the vet. From what I've read, getting rid or ringworm is quite hard, so I hope it's something that is easier to fix and not harmful to him!

Hi! So the vet said it definitrly wasn't ringworm (relief!!!). My cat has a bit of acne on his chin and she said that he could have had an annoying pimple that he around his whiskers. Or that he just rubbed his face against something. Or perhaps he simply scratched too vigorously and since it got a bit swollen, he keeps scratching it.the vet didn't seem worried at all and gave me pads to apply on his chin and old the bald spot to treat his acne.
