Mr. Cat, appeared from no where one summer day in July 2015. I was already feeding another stray who ate

then left. But once Mr. Cat, came he ate and stayed. In the beginning he would his at me so I would quickly put

the food down and come back inside. There's a side entrance to this property I rent that gave him some security

from other cats or dogs in the area. I put a warm blanket on one of the patio chairs and loved sleeping there. In the

beginning I wondered if he could have belonged to someone but he the way he hissed and being around cats most

of my life I knew he had to be a feral that has survived a few years. His left ear was partly chew up. He ate very well. One of my

cats just passed away in Feb. this year and she wasn't finishing all her food so Mr. Cat, sometimes 4-5 x's a day. During the winter

months it was very cold at night. I live in Los Angeles and the nights can get chilly in the winter but he was a tough cookie. When it

rained he had to find shelter because unfortunately I couldn't let him in I have another senior cat left. Mr. Cat, I know was not neutered.

so he'd leave and come back when it stopped raining. So as the months passed I still couldn't touch him I would pet him with the broom

bristles and he loved it. But if I over did it he'd want to attack me. He managed to scratch me one time. Back in October. Now I'm feeling

so sad because he's been gone for 3 days now. He would not miss a meal. Three days ago there was a dead cat 3 houses down from

where I live. I had to call animal control. I've always worried about Mr. Cat, because this is a rough neighborhood and I try to be discreet

about feeding other strays. But I'm sure some of the neighbors know I like cats. There's Pit Bulls in the neighborhood. But the owners are

good about them staying in their yard. The last time I saw Mr. Cat, was wednesday 6/8/16. The following day he wasn't there. I kept calling

for him. Nothing. Now today saturday still nothing. I miss him and I'm worried about him. I'm glad I came across this web site and read some

of these stories that are comforting. I've taken care and have fed many strays through the years but it always hurts. When I've had to move on

or they do. I hope he's doing ok. I'll still be here if he decides to come back. I wasn't going to adopt him but I plan on living here for another

five years therefore I would have continued to feed him and show him some love and he knew I cared. He never rubbed up against me but

I would have that broom just in case for protection but to him it was the closet thing to a human hand lovingly stroking him. Thanks for this

wonderful website. I will continue to visit it and read all these wonderful stories. There are so many caring and loving people in the

world. No matter how big or small every kind gesture to these lost souls it surely makes these beautiful creatures happy.

I am so sorry that Mr. Cat is missing.  Since the weather is warm and it is summer time, many un neutered male cats will wander and wander.  Their soul mission during mating season is to find a mate.  They can wander for miles and miles in search of a female.  They will even give up eating as the hormones have such a strong drive.

I had a feral who lived on my property for a few years.  He was very trap savy and it took me many months of trying to finally trap him and neuter him.  Yet while he was still not neutered, he would be gone for 3-5 months at a time.  He would eventually come back.

The kindest thing you can do for Mr. Cat is to trap him and have him neutered.  He can continue to live on your property and you can feed him and offer him shelter.  This will stop is wandering and also put him at less risk for fighting and diseases cats pick up from fighting.

I hope the Mr. Cat comes back to you soon.

Thank You very kindly "ShadowsRescue" for your informative response. It has helped me understand why Mr. Cat, has left. I've only had female cats

and had one male cat whom I neutered but he still left and returned once then left again for good. But I could tell he was well taken care of and thou it

saddened me I figured he just came back to say goodbye. This was many years ago in 1981. I still keep looking out the window for Mr. Cat, it did become a habit feeding him daily and just sharing a few moments outside to fix his towel on his chair. It did come to mind about trapping him and having him neutered if he comes back I will contact my local shelter. I've never done this before but you're right it would be the kindest thing I could do

for him. I sure hope he does come back and that you again I feel hopeful that even if he doesn't he's a survivor and I pray that no harm comes to him.

Mr. Cat, deserves the best life possible. :-)
