First of all, thanks to all of you for your help in the past. Fiona passed on in March from complications of hyperthyroidism after fighting the good fight and making it well into old age. At the end, there was no choice but to accept that she had gone as far as she could. My question today is about my other very old cat, Granada. She is almost 18, lives a very comfortable life on my bed, and seems happy. Recent bloodwork showed kidney issues....I tried subQ fluids which I knew she would not ever tolerate or understand the reason for doing. Her other issue is a large cyst in her ear, on in the inside but mid way on the flap and accessible to scratching. The vet cleaned her ears, gave me Entederm, completely ruled out any procedures to remove the cyst due to her age, and things have been okay. But the cyst is larger now, and when she scratches it  blood drips into the ear canal which I clean every day and also sprinkles onto the bed. That is not the problem as I can always do laundry.  I am not sure that she is in any discomfort from the cyst, but wondered if there was anything else that might stop the bleeding or heal it a little bit.

Tea Tree Oil does have a reputation for helping ear problems, but it can also be toxic to cats so it's very important to only use it under a vet's supervision.  Just a warning....
