Ok. Maybe I'm blowing it out of the water, but Emmett has been acting differently.

He is now 9 months old. He sleeps more, is more quiet, and doesn't seem to want to play with his mice as he used to.

Is it age setting in, I mean he'll be an adult in a few months, or is he depressed?? Could he be sick????

Any ideas to this change? It hasn't been going on long, but maybe he doesn't love me anymore

He could just be mellowing, they do that when they get out of the kitten stage. Just don't take it personally, the only reason this cat would ever stop wanting to be around you is if you scare him, or hurt him or stop providing for his basic needs. As long as he is eating, using the litter pan normally and drinking water I wouldn't worry. If you see him becoming real lethargic, or with his third eyelid creeping over or if he spikes a fever then a vet visit is warranted.

This is happening to my Penny too. She is about the same age as Emmett. But she still plays daily

Ok thanks Hissy for the info. I won't worry unless any of those things you mentioned show up.

Try playing with Emmett a bit more yourself. Even though i set some time aside to play with her, Rosie can walk around like a lost weekend at times, so when i see her like that, 10-15 minutes play with her does the trick!
