The temperatures have reached the mid 90s here in Kansas and, of course, the humidity is horrible. I have three cats, and I have noticed that one of them (a long-haired orange 2 1/2 year old named Phoenix) has been very lazy. She is eating, drinking a little more than usual, and I have run my hands over her body to check for ticks. It is usually for cats, especially long-haired ones, to get a little lethargic when the humidity cranks up in the summer? She does go outside, but always has access to our air-conditioned house. I just hope nothing is wrong with her. Thanks for any input.

I think at 2 1/2 year old, you shouldn't have too much too worry about, but it's important to keep an eye on any changes in eating and drinking habits. I have a ragdoll named Meredith and she's very uncomfortable in humid weather, she tends to lay about in the shade all day, only moving for her water bowl. I wouldn't say there's anything alarming but look for panting, changes in toilet habits as these may be early warning signs that something else may be wrong.
