Hello everyone. I am a foster parent for kittens from the local shelter, this is my 3rd batch, but this batch isa little different. The last two sets were very friendly and I afraid of people, while these kittens cower at every movement and sound. They'll let me pet them after I've laid or sat down and waited a few minutes, but in worried they'll never warm up.. I've been playing with them and sitting with them, petting while I'm feeding them, but I'm wondering if there's anything else I can do to help them become less afraid of people and ready for their adoptions.. I have read that there are some windows of time where human socialization is most important, but I'm not sure if we've missed those.. They're probably about 6 weeks? About a pound each.

They are plenty young enough to socialize.  It sounds more like their just a little disoriented than feral.

Do what you've been doing,  Engage them, pick them up and pet them.  Talk to them, play with them, get them used to people.

No sudden moves or loud noises.  You should begin to see a difference as they get used to their new surroundings and to you.

Yes,  That window is at about 8 weeks, so you got them in time. But proceed to work with them intensively and foster intensively, as Ondine suggests.

After a couple of days, if you have some cat friends, invite her or him, and let them participate in the play and giving food sessions.

After 8 weeks its still fully possible, but more difficult, especielly with one whom is shy by nature.
