Hi All

Misty and Mittens are coming up for 16 weeks now and it appears that Misty has lost her top 2 fangs, so I know that it's around the right time for their adult teeth to be coming in.

So what is the best food to feed them while their new teeth come in? They eat both wet  (Royal Canin Gastro mixed with kitten food - long story!) and kitten biscuits from the vets but seem to have lost their appetites a little over the last couple of days. Not much, but enough for me to think that their impending teeth might be bothering them a little!

My husband thinks biscuits will help dislodge wobbly teeth and therefore let their new adult teeth come thru whereas I'm thinking that wet food would be more comfortable for them at this point?

Thanks in advance!

I don't recall ever being asked this question before.  I also don't recall noticing when my furbabies lost their baby "fangs".  Anyway, I never changed their food while they were teething.  I do know their appetites went up and down when they were babies, to which I just attributed it to growing spurts.

Honestly, I don't think you need to adjust a thing, food wise.  Not until they reach 8 - 10 months, at which time they can go on adult food.

Thanks for the reply!

Turns out she's lost both sets of canines so is fangless at the moment, bless her! I've been just keeping up with the wet food and putting dry food down (as well as wet) before bed, but that's the only time they've been having them this last few days.

Initially her mouth seemed uncomfortable but is fine and dandy now, so I guess it's just a matter of time before the adult ones come in! They have a vet appointment next week for a check up so if she has no fangs by then, I'll mention it to the vet!
