I am so very sorry for your loss.  I know the feeling.  We had my hubby's 19 year old pts a few weeks back, she was in very poor health and it was (actually past) time.  She had been confined to our laundry room behind a baby gate for a while due to her condition and I am still going in there to talk to her, looking for her.  My other two boys in the house go back there cautiously, looking for her, sniffing.  One of them, who basically ignored her all the time, seemed to take it the worst.  He searched for her.

It's hard going, but you will all take care of each other and move on.  It's been really just sad, no other way to put it, around our house, but we know she is much better now and in no pain.  We have that consolation.  I can't stand to see anything in pain, but especially one of God's innocents (what I consider all animals) who doesn't understand.  I have great peace but great sadness!!

Please feel free to ramble on as much and as often as you wish.  Sending you hugs and consolation across the net

Thank you. We are getting better a little at a time. We still have Socks to love and take care of.

Thank you. It's been a little over 2 weeks. We still do things as if she was still here. :sigh:
Two weeks pales in comparison to 12 years of companionship and love. It will take time and even in time you will never really forget Lilbit...life will become a new version of normal. Take good care of yourselves.
Please give Socks some extra chin scratches for me [emoji]128571[/emoji]

For those of you that expressed concern about Socks. Here is a pic of my wife and Socks at the computer. He is doing better and so is she. He looks like he's about to fall asleep.

The other night after Jan and I went to bed I heard her sniffling. I ask what was wrong and she said that she missed Lilbit. Her and Lilbit always slept together for 12 years. Lilbit on her pillow. Socks doesn't get on the bed although we would like for him to do so. It breaks my heart cause I miss her too. Here's another pic of them. Lilbit is the Calico.

Aww I'm so sorry.  My Missy slept on my pillow for 18 years.  I was hard not to feel her little body hopping on the bed, and walking over me to get on the pillow.

I still miss her.

I am sure sorry for your loss of Lilbit. I completely understand the crushing sorrow we feel when our sweet calicos depart from our lives. I wish you and your family peace.

We know how you feel. Every night she used to jump up on the bed and walk the length of me from my feet to my chest and then jump over to Jan's pillow. I'm sorry for your loss too. Thanks.

Sweet Calico is the perfect word for Lilbit. Whereas Socks is all boy Lilbit was all girl. Very feminine. Thanks for the reply.
