Hi all. New to the site. Any comments and advice appreciated.

I have a rescue kitty, China, love her to pieces. She's always had a varied diet of wet and dry food. Not a fussy eater. Occasionally drinks water and has cat milk as a treat now and then.
China had kittens 4 weeks ago (I know she's young but she was already pregnant when we rehomed her appointment booked to have her done)
Anyway where she's eating a lot more lately I changed from pouches of wet food to tins, same brand. The tins seem to be bigger meat chunks than the pouches but I mash it up anyway otherwise she just eats the jelly.
My concern is, the last 2 days China has been grinding her teeth when eating the wet tin food. Doesn't grind with dry food, pouches (pinching the kittens) or little bits of ham. She's had other brand tin food and was never any grinding there.
Is it a problem or could it be a case of just doesn't like this particular food?

Many thanks [emoji]128522[/emoji]

I've had a similar thing on occasion with my Max. Had him checked for TMJ and other oral issues, which were negative. I was talking with my vet one day and she mentioned that teeth grinding (even when not done all the time) can be a sign of pain.

My Max has problems with pancreatitis and sure enough, once I got some pain and antinausea meds in him, the grinding stopped. (I will mention that Max showed absolutely no other symptoms of pain.)

My suggestion would be to take her to the vet and have a full physical done. Make sure the vet checks her mouth and abdomen.
