The poor boy was tested FIV positive... we trapped him Wednesday night, took him to the clinic, and they ran the tests... I was devastated. It now was clear that any potential takers are out, they have their own cats already. A frantic search for  a special accommodation ensued. Thank to God and kind humans, I located a very good facility for him. They specialize in caring for old, ill, FIV positive, and leukemia cats. They keep them in separate location, it is a big facility. I am so relieved!!! I hope he will finally enjoy living. Right now, he is undergoing neutering in the clinic and I will keep him there until Saturday, and then, we will drive him to this CATS' RESORT. I hear from everybody in Cat Rescue Community that it is a very good place. So I am very grateful.

HERE IS MY QUESTION to those of you who have a similar situation -- what is his life expectancy? He does not have leukemia, he is barely 2 y.o., most of his life he was an abandoned cat and lived outdoors. He will be most of the time INDOORS in his new home. he is very friendly, but definitely fought with other cats and even raccoons. I hope he will be more mellow after neutering. Otherwise he is very friendly. He did not hiss at me after we captured him (we had to buy a trap.) So I hope there will be no more fights. Or after entering into a new Cat community he will need to stand for himself?  What do you guys say?

More important - what is his life expectancy now? I so hope that he enjoys years of good life. I would appreciate if you share any story about similar situation with me.

Oh, almost forgot - Mr Orange now has first name, too. It is Golden. Mr Golden Orange. Why golden,? well, for his color and for what we paid to rescue him. We will continue helping this resort organization. They are doing a great job.

Thank you.

I have a friend who just had to put her FIV positive cat to sleep.  He lived with her for 18 years and had a long and healthy life.  Mr. Golden Orange has such a good chance now.  Thank you!
