My 10 week old Napoleon is arriving this evening and I am getting everything ready - she will begin transitioning to us in my bathroom (all prepared, I think lol) but as far as night time goes ... Do I put her in the bed with me? or leave her in the bathroom?

Will she need to get used to me first and then want to venture out?

And if I put her in the bed .... what about potty? Will I need to wake up and put her in the bathroom during the night? Will she wake me up? Is it really just a guessing game and try and see lol???

Thanks thanks

I would leave her in at night until you know she's really good about using her litter box. She can come out and slowly explore her new home during the day.

Agree take it stepwise.   You can have a litter in your bedroom. Be sure she know its there...

I presume you know  "Nappe" is healthy and doesnt has fleas.

There are two schools - one whom try not to get the kitten used to sleep with the owners.  Two - these whom allows the kitten to sleep in bed.  A good point with it is the kitten lacks littermates and mommy.  Letting it sleep with you will help it.   But once done so, it will be difficult not to let it sleep with you, if you notice you did too much too quick.

If you let it sleep by itself in the bathroom, give it a stuffed animal, and some sort of heating pad...May be wrapped in Fleece, it feels almost as fur.

Thank you so much ... I did get a heating pad and I'm sure my kiddos have a stuffed animal ... Good ideas!

She is guaranteed healthy - she seems pretty perfect to me ;)

She's purr-fect! [emoji]128149[/emoji]

I would have a hard time not letting her sleep with me. [emoji]128521[/emoji]

I'll bet she's litter-trained, and will need comforting from you while she adjusts to her new surroundings. Let us know how she does!

well she did pretty good - she cried unless I was holding her so just like my babies did - she won! I got up with her a lot in the night (and even slept beside the bed on the floor for a while as to let my hubby sleep and let her snuggle) I would say our first night was fairly successful and I got a little tiny bit of sleep lol

She was probably frightened. I think if you let her sleep with you, you will get more sleep and she will feel safer. Let the spoiling begin! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

I was worried all night about her using the litter box (especially since she wanted in the bed with us) - she is litter trained, but of course with the new surroundings I wanted to make sure she knew where they were and would get out of the bed with me to go potty ... but she waited till this morning and used the litter box just fine!   Hopefully each day gets a little easier - her getting used to us and us to her :)
