I have a three week old kitten, and me and my boyfriend currently are bunking in my parents garage. A lot of spiders surround the house due to it being very "woodsy" here. I've been doing my best to keep them out but the garage door is a push-up kind, and has a lot of gaps, not very sealed. For a bit I've only seen baby spiders, but tonight I found a big one underneath a wet towel that was left near our bed from her spilling her formula. We have also seen baby jumping spiders, but not many. I'm petrified to keep her in here now because she's extremely adventurous. What should I do??

Can you just remove the kitty to other side of house temporary for a day? or keep in your vehicle? then spray the garage with a

type of insect bomb? The Vets may inform you of best product to use. Most likely need to remove people/pets from room area for 24 hours during procedure.

@Downfall   How did you acquire a kitten that young? they need to stay with their mom until 8 weeks of age
  feeding KMR formula?

Any pictures?

I put her into the hallway bathroom for tonight and put up a sign so they know that she is in here. I do plan on getting a bomb, however it unfortunately depends on how much it is. The reason we are staying at my parents house is due to the fact that I lost my job... I've been telling my mom that we need to get someone out here to spray but she's a terrible procrastinator. I will definitely be telling her of this incident in the morning though, hopefully it makes her feel bad enough to go get it today. As of right now, I'd much rather be bit instead of my kitten. I don't think she would be able to survive a bite or especially if she were to eat it.

She was abandoned on the side of the road, and was stuck in a guardrail when me and my boyfriend found her. You can tell that she just had opened her eyes.

I havent heard of that problem earlier, so I presume, spiders are usually no threat to cats.  Unless you do have there some sort which is directly poisonous, alike Black Widow is said to be.

Cats gladely eat spiders - at least older cats.

I myself would worry more about the anti-spider bomb - which IS poisonous.  IF you do it, be really sure you air out the area.  Preferably also wash off with some mild soap.

And yes, if the kitten is SO young, you are de facto handraising it.

dont hesitate to come with question on how to do it...   Read on the articles and links we do provide on our site too..

We found black widow eggs when we first cleaned out the garage. We also have a lot of brown recluses near us. The spider that I found tonight looked to be a small one of those(that or a wolf spider) I immediately killed it due to it being right there where she sleeps

What, how much, and how often are you feeding the kitten?

Can you all stay in the main house until the spider issue is dealt with? It cannot be healthy for any of you to be around spiders, eggs, their poop, or insectiside.

Re the pic, kitten is surely older than 3 weeks, perhaps even is 6.   Although if unsure, treat is as younger, and be pleasantly suprised better than get a nasty surprise...

if you use a spider/bug bomb make sure all food dishes and food is covered completely then wash off counters/floors etc-the bomb chemicals can get into kittns bloodstream by pawpads and licking the pawpad. I would see if there are natural alternatives to getting rid of the spiders but remember spiders eat mosquitoes. You can try diatomaceous earth food grade which is ground up silicone-it suffocates insects who breathe through their skin. it doesn't harm us because we don't breathe through skin BUT you need to be careful not to allow you or kitten to breathe the dust-but its very effective in killing fleas/ticks and any bugs that breathe through skin. I got my DE at the local feed store which is blueseal feeds. Any grain store or horse place like tractor supply will have it. make sure its food grade-

I'm with @sarthur2.  It isn't safe for any of you to be out there.  My friend was bitten by a Brown Recluse and there is no definite treatment.  The bites/infection do not always respond to antibiotics.  She was in and out of the ER for IV antibiotics for a couple of weeks.  She had a golf ball size lump where she was bitten.  A tent in the yard would be safer.

Yeah, I was wrong about how young she is. She's 7weeks old, not 3. I've never honestly had a baby before so with how tiny she is, I thought she had to be must younger. And the reason we stay in the garage is because my younger siblings have the other rooms and I can't kick them out. We're saving up money to get our own place, however it's taking us longer due to, I lost my job.. my mom said that she doesn't want to risk getting a bomb because we also have all of our furniture in here. So I've been spraying bleach around the garage door, no where that can harm her, more or so on top. We slightly blocked off the sides with sheets for now.

We feed her practically every hour, but now realizing her age, were going to see if she can eat hard food yet. I don't want to risk tearing up her stomach.

I'm terribly sorry to hear what happened to your friend.. brown recluses are the worse spiders to bump into. :(
Unfortunately we don't have any other choice ATM but to keep an eye out. I don't even turn off the lights in here because of how paranoid I am about them. Lol

I have major allergies and also need to keep my house free of chemicals as I have a lot of people with health issues coming and going.

I've found that there are some pretty simple ways of keeping creepy crawlies at bay.   A spray of quite a few drops of citronella and tea tree oil mixed in a little witchhazel and added to water in a spray bottle is my favourite, but there are cheaper ways.  I found a couple of sites that may help, but I'm sure there are heaps more good ideas out there.
