Hello,

I have a friend whose cat vomits frequently. The vet is having him feed him Royal Canin's Hydrolyzed Protein cat food, but it's a good $50.00 for a 7lb bag. Is there a cheaper, decent substitute for this food?

Thanks~

Why is he vomiting? What does your vet think is causing this? Is it a food intolerance or IBD? Vomiting is not normal and it indicates an issue with food, usually, as long as other medical conditions are ruled out like hyperthyroidism. RX foods are really garbage and not worth the price at all. I would suggest you either feed a limited ingredients wet food like Merrick LID or look into raw or homecooked. You want to steer clear of kibble, which is hard for cats to digest and can trigger more vomiting. Here's some info that might help you.
