There's still no news :( I called about 11:15 and the receptionist said she was being operated on at the moment. I feel sick to my stomach. She was a bit quiet this morning and withdrawn and she usually likes her cat carrier but we had to fight to get her to go into it this morning. I just want to see my baby and obviously know that her and the kittens are all ok. I didn't think it would take as long but I don't know when he actually started the operation so I need to wait again. My oldest son is 6 and he was crying before he went to school this morning because he didn't want her to go. So I'm hoping she's home or I have news for 3pm when he finishes school.

I was sure when I checked this morning, there'd be babies, but again none. I can only imagine how hard the waiting is for you.

Edit to delete c-sections time ... I Googled Cats, but the result was for humans. Sorry for the confusion.

You will have heard by 3pm. Did they say you will be allowed to bring her home today?

I'm sure she was exhausted, and knew something was up. Poor gal. It will be a relief for her too when this is over.

He said if everything was ok and Jessie and the kittens were all fine after surgery then she could get home about 4 hours after the procedure. But until it was done he couldn't give me a definite answer.

I got up extra early for this today!

And that is standard to go home about 4-6 hours later. The vet wants to observe a bit.

Your son will be so excited! [emoji]128571[/emoji]

And you must be SO very relieved!

There was bloody FIVE !! I don't know how he missed them.
Jessie is recovering well and 4 of the kittens are all healthy but he's a bit worried about the 5th one and wants to keep an extra eye on that one as he thinks it might have a slight problem with its neck and it doesn't seem as strong as the others. He's asked me to wait an hour till he sees how they all are before I can go and see them all. All being well I can get them all home at 5.00pm before the close. I can't wait to see them all, I feel like I can breath now

Oh my word! [emoji]128558[/emoji]

No wonder she was miserable! I don't know how he missed seeing that many either. They must have been really smushed up together.

There is always a runt. Hoping it will be okay.

You've got your KMR though, right? In case that one needs feeding (your sleepless nights may not be over yet!).

Cheers! I'm so thrilled for you!

Yay! Kittens!  Congratulations!

Hopefully all will be well with the 5th kitten.

Again, sorry about the c-section confusion. Clearly I know nothing about birthing kittens.
Luckily the site let me edit the post.

Yes I have stuff called petag I think it's called. The vet did say he was having to feed them as Jessie wasn't awake enough yet for her to nurse them. I'm just so excited to go and see them all. I just hope the 5th one is ok and makes it as he said it didn't look strong at all and it could pass but it's a case of wait and see.

Ah, it's good they are feeding the babies to get their blood sugar up and going. Hopefully #5 will gain strength and be okay.

Jessie will wake soon. She'll be lethargic this evening though. Remember to inquire about the pain meds!

Babies should be able to nurse later. And mom will start cleaning them too. You may have to help her though for the first couple of days.

This is so exciting! I'm looking forward to pictures! I can't wait to see what they look like! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Yeah I've got another list written full of questions lol.
Omg I didn't even think to ask him what they were like, I will take lots of pictures as soon as I get there. Just giving my other 2 kids lunch then will be heading down as soon as the vet phones back.

Sounds good!

You'll want to get a birth weight on each kitten so you have a baseline for weight gain - especially with #5. You can do that after you are home with them tonight using your kitchen scale.

Yeah I ordered it a few weeks ago. I wasn't sure if it was the right kind to buy but the vet said this morning it's the right stuff. I'm just on my way to the vets just now. Can't wait to see my baby and all my new babes :)
