It's good she's had some food and is resting. The discharge indicates that there is some uterine activity. Come on, kittens!

Just had a failed attempt at doing a poo. The vet said she will do that a lot and to make sure she doesn't birth the kittens there as it will feel the same. She kind of huffed then went into her nest and pulled the bed pad up and lay back down

She's came out her nest and napping on top of my sons bed now. She's been to the litter tray another once to pee but only the smallest dribble came out.

That's from the oxytocin, but it does not sound like the contractions are strong enough, and it's been a good 3 hours now.

I hate to say it, but I do not think the oxytocin is going to do the job. She's probably going to need the c-section tomorrow.

I suppose you'll be hearing from your vet soon?

She stands up when her stomach goes hard and howls then lays back down when it goes soft. The vet called about 10 minutes ago and said sometimes oxytocin works straight and some times it takes longer but sometimes it doesn't work at all. He's said if she continues the way she is then he wants her in at 9:30 tomorrow morning for the operation. He said as long she she doesn't start straining without producing a kitten and she doesn't start bleeding heavily then she should be fine till morning

Is it normal for male cats to sense a queen in labour ? I have 2 huge male cats appear in my garden and they keep calling and screeching

They are sitting at opposite ends of my garden and one keeps screeching. Jessie can obviously hear them as she's meowing like mad and pacing around the room.

Yes! I had male cats hanging around through my cat's pregnancy, and beyond, until after she was spayed, and her kittens were 8 weeks old at that point. It's amazing how males pick up on hormones from inside a home and from far away.

Your vet is correct. If she begins bleeding heavily (not just spotting) or pushing without success for an hour, then it's an emergency.

The howling is from pain. Perhaps the contractions are getting stronger. This may work after all!

They are crazy huge as well and I've never seen these cats before either. The only male cat I see about my area is a fluffy ginger cat who belongs to the people in the next street:. She's settled back down in her nest again so will leave her again until after I give the kids dinner and see how she is then.

Just signed on and saw 46 new messages and was sure I was going to see that kittens had arrived. Hopefully the ripples and howling means things are happening and those babies will be be soon.
