maybe print off one of the links about how to raise kittens? Maybe someone can post a link with all the info on one article? I would worry about something happening to momcat prior to birthing. Predators and PEOPLE who don't leave animals alone worry me more. Can you explain to her that momcat was an outdoor kitty but needs a safe place to rest up for giving birth?

Do you have a vet nearby? Maybe the vet can speak to your mom. also maybe do an ultrasound on momcat to see how many kittens are on their way? Mom will need to stay INDOORS after birth-there are parasites and ickies that can kill the kittens-the kittens wont have built up immunity to these things until they have their booster shots and regular set of shots. There are horrible viruses that can wipe out a litter of kittens in days if she doesn't keep your girl kitty inside. The mom can fight off germs but those kittens will be vulnerable to several common virus/parasites that would be heart breaking to watch.

We have seen too many people have to watch their kittens fade away from an unknown disease/germ and we want to spare you from having to live through this. please share this with your mother. kitty will be fine inside-she will be sleeping more than anything to get ready to give birth.

http://pets.thenest.com/deadly-viruses-kittens-8564.html has a list of things that we don't want to expose the kittens to

Thank you for this!

Yes, today she has slept ALL day in her box. So hopefully she will be okay. I am going to bring her in tonight :)

It would be better to take her in a week before you think she'll have them.  Most outdoor cats hide their kittens.. If she is using the nest now, she will most likely look for another spot to have her kittens.  They want a clean nest w/o fleas and less of the mom's scent to avoid predators while mom is vulnerable.

Inside she will want a dim spot like a closet.  Bright light is not good for the kittens eyes.

You should get rid of fleas and worms before she has the babies.

Luna is really doing well, I felt a kitten move today for the first time.
She's also got a really hard belly today which is sticking out a lot more, does this mean anything?

The hard belly happens in the last stages of pregnancy. She could still have a week or more though, but you're getting there! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Still no kittens but it's tea lly amazing to see and feel them moving around inside her belly.

Took the towel off the top of her nesting box and got a really strong smell of well, cat pee I guess.
Is this normal? Not sure if it's 'her' smell or if it's a bad sign.

Any suggestions welcome

Is it possible that mom is just having trouble cleaning herself or do you think she's peeing in the best? Do you have a litter box set up?

Yes, litter box is set up and she uses it.
Weird, they aren't right next to each other either.

She still uses the cardboard box to sleep in too. It's just a really musky smell.

I suggest changing the bedding in the nest. Her water may have broken. It does not sound like pee though.

Have Changed the towel, nothing is wet so I'm not sure what it was.
She loves laying on my lap so added a tshirt of mine that I don't mind getting dirty, all curled up with it as we speak.
