I would stay with her. It's hard to know exactly when she'll give birth, but if she needs you, you should try to be there for her, even if you have to bed down on the floor next to her. She will take comfort in that! [emoji]128077[/emoji]

Thanks [emoji]128522[/emoji] she's been needy and wants to go outside but I've been preventing that, she's sleeping now. I hope the babies come soon![emoji]128515[/emoji]

She's lucky to have you with her!

Yes, mom definitely needs to stay in now!  She can actually get pregnant again within a week of delivery and without going into heat, so she needs to stay 100% inside and away from intact males until the kittens are weaned.

She's normally an outside cat since my mom is allergic but she is allowed in the back room and that's where she's staying for the time being. She's not technically my cat she's my brothers but I'm the more animal oriented of the family so I'm the one who looks after her. And we're planning on having her spayed as soon as possible after the kittens.

Mom can be spayed when the kittens are 8 weeks old.  She just can't go out at all before then, even though she'll try.  :)

Ok [emoji]9786[/emoji] it'll be hard but I'll do my best [emoji]128077[/emoji] do you think she's in labor? I don't know the exact mating date. All I know is she's discharging waxy stuff and her stomach is kinda hard, but I'm not seeing any milk, she's been protective of her tummy up till now but in the last few days she's been laying on her back and rolling over to get her tummy rubed. She's normally active and comes running when we call her or open the back door but for the last week or so is when i started noticing her laying down a lot more.

The discharge and hard belly tell me that she is very close. Those are end of pregnancy/just before or early labor signs. So it may not be tonight, but may be in the next couple of days. If you see her sides tense and release, or what looks like "ripples" in her sides, that is contractions. And, first stage labor can last up to 24 hours before pushing begins. Does she have a nest set up for her in the back room? A decent-sized box with blankets?

Yes she'll tense up and shudder with a little moan. Definitely an old large half of a dog crate and earlier in the day it was really hot out so i put my fan in there on low just to keep the temp regulated. She's not staying in it much right now, she likes being close to where we are so she'll go sleep by the door I'm planning on moving the nest closer to the door tomorrow.

You should sit with her if you can.  It sounds like she wants you with her for comfort and some cats have delayed labor until their favorite human is there.  Rub her tummy gently if she wants it, it helps move things along.

If you have time read the following article.
