My little Lexi seems to have a bit of acne on her chin (black specks which look like dirt). It doesn't seem to be bothering her or be infected or inflamed at this stage. She already has glass food and water dishes that are washed daily so I don't think that is the issue. She's quite a messy eater and being a kitten (7 months) I don't think she cleans herself up properly after eating, so I'm thinking that is the cause. Since noticing the black specks I have been washing her chin daily with warm water. This isn't clearing it, I have read watered down Betadine can help? Has anyone had success with this? I'm trying to avoid a vet visit at this stage, as it seems quite minor. She's white so doesn't look very attractive lol!

My last cat used to get cat acne on his chin. I'd swap some benzoyl peroxide on a q-tip and put that on him for a couple of days and it'd clear up. I used the regular kind from the dermatologist, but I believe you can get a shampoo version from the vet.

The couple of times my Pushy got chin acne it cleared up pretty quickly without having to go to the vet. I used a Q-Tip and dabbed on rubbing alcohol a couple of times a day.
Wiping your pretty kitty's face as you're doing should help prevent more acne once this clears up.
