We are feeding two ferals in our backyard and one is getting quite friendly. I've been able to pick him up twice now, after a year. One thing that helped bring him around is he is young (my guess about two) and loves to play and I've been dragging a stick on the ground for him to chase around and up the trunk of a big pine tree at the back of our yard. Well, now as soon as I head to the back yard or just go outside he's leading me to the tree and making it quite plain I am to play with him. It's the cutest thing ever, he walks down the path to the back, looking back to make sure I'm following, Then he either goes and stares pointedly at where I left the stick or looks up the tree trunk. Pick up that stick, lady, and play with me. Please? I've been playing with him back there since winter when the snow was high. I wonder how long it took me to realize he was leading me back there? I hope I wasn't a slow student.
