We have been busy nursing one of our latest rescues back to health as well, and I have not had much time to look at posts on the site. Our Penny was absolutely skin and bones, very weak, no energy, and refusing to eat. We thought she was a "non-thriving" kitten. With lots of love and attention, and a mixed wetfood/recovery diet, she is doing great.

We expended a lot of energy and time, but it is always worth it. These two would make a great team together! Good job by the way, another beauty gets to live a long, wonderful life because of your efforts.

Here is a picture of our Penny, she looks ten times better than she did on arrival, cute little calico.

My wife just gave me a great comparison of the difference between Penny at arrival, and today. The difference is incredible, and I am now confident she is completely out of the woods. Sort of like watching toast, you can't always tell when it's ready. Having the two photos side by side, the difference is clear.

Penny at arrival, and after treatment.

Yes, she really is beautiful, except during feeding time. I have never seen a cat so tiny, be so aggressive. The adult cats get scared when she eats. Her brother Rusty (named after my first chikdhood cat of memory) is a bit bigger and pure muscle.

I am uploading a short video to the community photos, still not sure how to navigate this site, it is an introduction to a few of our kids as they hunt down a tiny lizard. Hope people find and enjoy the short. We are working on selecting photos of each of our rescues, there are so many, it takes time. Anyway, I am sure Penny is enjoying the extra attention she is receiving. Thanks for the kind words, the kittykeepers[emoji]128522[/emoji]

Her mother must have been a good teacher, eat as much as you can when you can because otherwise, you will starve.  She will get better with time.

I look forward to seeing the video and photos :)

I still love the ears.

Absolutely gorgeous!  Looks a lot like the cats of Lamu, an island in Kenya where some believe the lineage of the ancient Egyptian cats survives.  There is even a book, THE CATS OF LAMU, where you can see the similarity and read about these beautiful cats.

There is just something about big-eared kitties that gets to me almost as much as kittens' tails!
