Yes I am. She is an indoor cat anyways. I babysat a male for 2 weeks and she had her first heat during that time and here we are.

Oh dear!  That is poor timing!  If you'd like help finding a low cost spay/neuter clinic for when the babies are weaned just let us know.  There are lots of health benefits even if she's indoor only.  I'm sure you thought you had more time!

She sounds like she's getting very close. She may even be in early labor already, from your description of her behavior today. Keep us posted!

Well no labor yet. She's eating, but not much. She's being a lot more vocal today. Sprawling out and rubbing herself on the living room floor while being quite vocal. Demanding a lot of attention from me. I just don't know what to think. Her nipples are getting much bigger now so I"m thinking we'll be having babies within the next few days. But I'm no professional. I could be wrong. She's acting so weird. She'll act all crazy, then go hide somewhere. Then come back and act all crazy again, then disappear again. I just don't know what to think.

It's her hormones driving her to nest and come out, nest and come out. It's a tough phase.

Wow, in the cat world, she is a hottie! We have seen a cat near our home with the same color pattern, and been hoping to rescue him/her, but no luck as of yet.

If this is her first litter, she will probably be a little panicky and scared, finding a safe room for her to have her litter, where she can't hide in some darkened corner, or under some heavy object, should be your goal. Also, getting some vitamins to support her while feeding the little ones, should be on your shopping list.

Many times, nature will do the work for you, and she will handle the birth just fine. They often eat the placenta (yeah I know, nasty) while they clean off the newborn kittens. This serves a secondary purpose of returning nutrients that she needs after the physical assault she goes through. If she starts to eat the discharge and placenta, just let her do so.

Finally, she sounds like she is very close, bet they are arriving as I write this reply. Good luck with the little ones, and wait at least a month before you get her spayed, after the kittens stop feeding is a good rule of thumb. Sincerely, the kittykeepers.

She had one almost an hour and a half ago. Is it normal for them to go so long in between kittens? She's not acting distressed or anything.

It's been an hour and a half and no more babies. But I think she may be getting ready to start again.

That's crazy. I don't know if it will be a day or a few hours. But I know there are more in there and she'll lay there all calm, then move around and be vocal, then lay there and be calm. She's just a mystery to me. LOL

You just want to watch for active pushing without any result for over half an hour, or other indications that mom is in distress.  Otherwise she's probably fine and they'll come when they come!

Congrats from me too.  I also love orange kitties - note my avatar of Ruby.   Hope you will post some pictures once things settle down.
