Hi everyone :wavey:

Are you allergic to anything ?

I'm allergic to poodle dog hair, no other type of dog hair - just poodle.
Which wouldn't be much of a problem except I'm a dog groomer LOL :lol3:

Luckily it only makes my eyes itchy, so I just wear a pair of safety glasses now to groom poodles & it solved my problem :D

I have seasonal allergies but they seem to be more yearly at this point.

I've had some problems with specific cats in the past - one of my sister's had a glossy black cat which made me SO ill but I've never had it happen with others so IDK what that was all about.  I probably do have some minor allergy to cats but it gets mixed up with the seasonal and besides, not like I'm getting rid of them by a long shot. I just take Zyrtec all the time which works.

I think I have developed some type of seasonal allergy  It's something that comes around in the fall.  I don't have a huge reaction, really just like a cold, but it's  been at the same time every  year for several years so I  think it is  some type  of allergy.

That would be a bad breed to be allergic to for a dog groomer, they are one that gets the  regular clipping.  It's unusual too.  I think the poodle is one of the dogs that some people who  are allergic can tolerate.  I think that is the reason for a lot of the new designer breeds like the Labradoodle.

Let's see...penicillin, demerol, all opiates, over 450 pollens, molds and dust, and have sensitivities to liver, beets and coconut (the flesh...the milk doesn't seem to bother me.  On the up side, those are the only foods that give me problems, and I can eat any of them in very small portions, and I have NO animal allergies!

I'm coeliac, so I guess that means I'm allergic to gluten. I'm definitely allergic to something else too, but I don't know what it is - I have allergic rhinitis, but we've not been able to pinpoint the trigger. All I know for sure is that it's not seasonal.

Seasonal, especially in autumn (my favorite season, ironically enough), sulfa (pretty bad allergy with that one), and something in one of any flavor of Ben & Jerry's ice cream that I ate at an ice cream survey thing that put me into anaphylactic shock. So, after that, I avoid that brand altogether.

Wow.  Reading what some of you have to deal with, I feel pretty lucky.  I get a horrible reaction to tree pollens, especially pines, in the spring and sometimes in the fall, but that's about it for me.

Advil, Aleve, Tylenol, Bufferin, Excedrin, aspirin, baby aspirin, Lisinipril, etc. Pretty much every OTC pain med known to man. Allergic to the point of carrying an Epi-pen with me everywhere now. I can't use Halls Lozenges.

That's partially why my doctor put me on Prednisone this time around for sciatica. I can't take any NSAIDs or anything like that because my face, tongue, eye, throat will swell. I didn't really take it seriously until I took two Advil one night (because it's only two and big deal, my face will swell up; I'll at least be able to get rid of the pain). Well, my tongue and throat started to swell. Not pretty and it scared me. Haven't had any pain meds now for over two years, maybe close to three years now. And that's a bugger because when I get a migraine I would sometimes sell my soul for two Advil tablets.

I used to live on Advil for headaches. And I mean going through a bottle pretty much every week or two. Headaches are horrible things.

There's something that they put on some produce, too, that gives me an allergic reaction. We were down at the grocery store one night and I had bought produce. Well, I'm pretty picky about produce and I'll stand there for quite a while looking, feeling, etc. We bought our groceries and were on our way home and I could feel my lip start to tingle. Sure enough, til we got home, my lip was huge and the entire right side of my face was starting to swell. Got home, washed face and hands with disinfectant, popped two Benedryl, and in about an hour or so, the swelling started to dissipate. By bedtime, I was fine. Really, really tired and sleepy from the Benedryl, but OK otherwise.

I'm allergic to the stuff from horseflies. They bite me and I get huge, HUGE welts from the bites. And they itch terribly. I don't go outside to mow until I'm completely immersed in bug stuff.

My mom was allergic to bee stings and we took her to the ER more than once. I don't know if I've developed that yet; fortunately I haven't gotten stung by a bee in a long, long time. *Knock on wood*

Latex, & seasonal here too. Which here in NC, seems to be almost year round!
We're practically neighbors!  I'm in Havelock.  And my allergy season here runs from early March to late September!

@Hatchytt   Hekitty is allergic to concrete, as well.  Her fur falls out and she gets hives.  She can walk across it briefly, but she can't lie on it at all.

horse makes me very ill, cats too but if i am around one for 2-3 months then i developed immunity but i am miserable. at the groomers today i was very sick-we shaved my cats-the dander on floey makes me itch n sneeze-so i wiped her down with a wet clothe. lets see-i had one of those allergy prick tests and 90% of it i reacted to, horse, bug yucks, dust mites, tree, grass, etc lilacs make me ill the next day. i missed so much school in high school until i was on allergy shots but it took a year to really work. no allergies to meds except Novocain-i get heart palpitations it feels like-it goes away but scary. other than that nothing in the medicine world, just environmental..

Something in winter gives me an allergy with streaming right nostril and streaming right eye. I just phone my doctor for antihistamines and it's gone in 10 days.
