Help me identify my cat!!

This is my handsome boy Jay. About 4 years ago sister found and rescued him on a freezing cold winter night in PA while she was away at college. We took him in and have had him ever since! He started out looking like a regular sort of tabby cat but then one day before our eyes he became this large long haired bushy tailed kitty! I always suspected he might be from the Maine coon family but recent spectators have said Norwegian Forrest cat! I'm curious what you all think!

So you say no gypsies nor trolls are necessary for such changeling?  The change out can be spontaneous by itself?? 

They are perhaps even innocent??  Huh uh!   Thus I see I must perhaps do some apologizing.  

OK, the easiest first.  No clearly visible look alikeness to Norwegian Forest Cat.   They have a quite typical, triangularish heads with a rather straigh profile.

He must be counted as a longhaired domestc,  DLH, but may of course have some Maine Coon ancestor, if he is biggish and with these looks.
