When Tilly is about to go into labour she will start being a lot more vocal and restless, trying to sort out a nest. You might see little contractions along her tummy and she should lose her mucous plug - it kind of looks like a little blood ball. Her waters should break with that as well. My one had only started to show signs around day 65. Good luck :)

Hello!

Now would be a good time to set up nests for Tilly around your home. Think dark, quiet places.

You also want to stock up on some kitten supplies. You'll need a small scale that weighs in grams, kmr (powdered by PetAg is best; avoid Hartz), and a needleless syringe.

Are you able to keep mom 100% inside and away from intact males from now until her kittens have weaned? It's essential that she deliver inside and she can get pregnant again within a week of delivery, so it's important to everyone's safety.

That is guys. I've sorted her a box out. It's been there for a week it's up in my bedroom away from the kids. Tilly sleep on the end of my bed most nights so thought the bedroom is the best place forher . Need to buy scales as I packed mine away as we will be moving some when in the next month or two. And shall buy kitten milk stuff. I can't wait!! She hasn't had her show yet so guessing a few more days. She didn't eat as much food as she normally would (since she has been pregnant she's eaten loads!!!) so shall see what she eats tonight. I can't wait to see how many she has. She's quite fat bless her as she's a small skinny cat normally.

Its common they are a little late.  Cats manage a too long pregnany better than humans, and vice versa: early deliveries are dangerous for the kittens.

But she has dropper, so its nearing.

Yes, its wise to be prepared and have some kmr or goats milk at home.

It would be wise to get a small scale and a needleless syringe as well.

can i just give a tip for any kittens born not breathing after mum has done her job.

take the kitten and swing it a few times, not too roughly, in an up and down movement.

It tends to work better than rubbing it, gets air into their lungs.

Thabks guys. She's still not doing much. I made up some kmr and she will t touch it. Do u think I could mix it in with her normal kitten/cat milk? Caught her under my sons bed with her bum slightly off the ground so no idea. She hasn't lost her plug still and no broken waters. So I'm guessing it's jus a waiting game

It can be some precontractions.  But if she wants to you follow up to her nest, its probably early labor...

Sweet she sees you as her momma and wants your assistance.  But we do understand you are momma of four more, human children.  Unless you can get help from someone - your partner, or some friend, whom comes and takes care of the children.

If so, preferably someone whom your cat is knowing, so she doesnt feel stressed by the presence of strangers in the house...

she has surely dropped - the kittens are further down in the birthing channel.  That is why she looks somewhat different than two days ago.

Cats dont have the water as humans, as every kitten is in its own sack. So yeah there are fluids but yet not the same as with humans.   What you wrote in the first post was surely here mucus-plug.

So really, we dont know exactly WHEN she will deliver, even if you follow upstairs.  The only we know its nearing.  But cats can in some degree hold up, so she may very well delay the labor, waiting for your presence and company.

Good you got get this friend helping you out.   All of your children needs the care, both the furry ones and the two legged.
