Hello, my BSH girl has given birth to 5 little kittens 6 days ago and I was wondering whether you could help me out what colour the 3 lighter ones are ? I'm assuming theyre lilac but not sure if they could be fawn ? The parents were both blue. Also could the colours change ie go darker/lighter ?

Is it possible your parents are carriers of the point gene?  they are fair enough for be points.  In this case you will see in a few days...

To be honest, Im not expert on the exact nuances and naming of them.   In my household breed we  have it easy: ALL are blue.  some of the american type are lighter. Some others tend to be darker, some few appears almost black on pics.  But all are blue.    The white, black, tabby, etc russians   are something foreigners do, its nothing real for us.  The only exceptions is, sometimes there is born a pointed russian.  And some very few have as fault a little locket on the chest.  both are  classified for a life as pets.

But looking again at the pic, I see three different colors; 1 typical blue as in british blue, 2 brownish, possibly with darkish face 3 very diluted brownish - in distance they would probably be seen as white.

So, nr 3  I suspect may be points.   We will know more in in a week, if they darken up on the points.   :)

but what to do with nr 2?  Which was probably your question.    OK, ARE the face darker brown, almost black?

If so, there is another combination which could give such a result.   A burmanese point.  or rather, a mix of burmanese and siamese point.

I have never seen such kittens such young, only when several months old.  They do darken up much faster than the usual siamese-type mixes.

So now Im wildly speculating and guessing.  Forgive me.

IF SO,  what I dont understand is,  as both parents are obviously siamese point carriers - which dont show on them.

One of them would also carry the burmanese point too...

And if so, that individual parent would be such a burmanese-siamese point mix...   Wouldnt not have the looks of a typical British Blue.

The only explanation I can imagine.  You see momma, so she is a british blue for real.   Did you saw the dad?  Was he a typical British blue gentleman?

If you didnt saw him, there may perhaps be this possibility HE was this burmanese-siamese point, but being of British Ancestry, with purebred parents, he got registered as British shorthair too....

In FIFE, our association, Russians are RUS, but pointed russians are called  XSH - so they get their pedigree certificate, but in it they are called essentielly for a moggie...  So this variation wouldnt be possible in Sweden with regular breeding where you use a registered proper stud.

Speculating. I dont have enough with info nor knowledge to know for sure.
