My cat was bitten at the base of his tail a week ago and had an abscess. The vet drained it and gave an antibiotic jab. He seems quite well and eating ok but keeps quivering his tail and darting forward as if there's an irritation or discomfort. His rear end quiver too. Any thoughts?

The base of the tail is a very sensitive area to cats. His nerves there were probably damaged a little by the bite. Now that the abscess was drained and he's getting an antibiotic, this should clear up over time. It will take a while, though.

Thank you. That's reassuring.
