RIP Chessy, my soul cat

On Monday 23 May, we put my soul cat Chessy (or Chester as my husband liked to call him) to rest at home.  He was 15 and had kidney disease, liver disease, and diabetes in the end.  


I rescued Chessy in 2006, when he was 5, from a local animal shelter and had him for 10 years.  He was really the best cat I have ever met, and everyone loved him.  He would follow me everywhere, talk to me all the time, and greet everyone who came to the door.  He loved everyone he met.  We also had special bonding time every night when he would follow me to bed, lay on my stomach for petting and purring, and sleep by my feet.  Our house is so quiet now without him, and my heart is broken.  We have another cat, Mia, who also misses him very much.  His ashes are supposed to be delivered to my vet this week.

My husband helped me make a video in memory of him.  It's only a couple minutes long.  RIP Chester.

Chessy will live on in a special place in your heart and through the great memories of your time together. Please be kind to yourself and give yourself as much time as you need to grieve. What a beautiful boy he was, he had beautiful markings. He had that look of wisdom about him too. I am so sorry he had to go to the rainbow bridge. The video was very touching and heartfelt.  RIP Chessy   

What a beautiful tribute to a very special boy.  I'm so sorry that Chessie had to leave you and my heart aches for what you are going through.  The video shows what a loving and well loved boy he was and made me smile, watching him go after the pizza.   He will always be in your heart, a strikingly beautiful and wonderful cat.  May he visit you in your dreams and bring you comfort.

So sorry for your loss. I can see in the video that he had a good life with you.

Thank you for giving that sweet boy a home and the love he deserved so much. He enriched your life and brought so much into your home. I know it hurts so bad to have that home so quiet now, it takes a long time to mend a broken heart. Try to celebrate what he gave to you, don't dwell on the end, it brings nothing but heartache, and he would never want you to be so sad when remembering him. Not even death can break the bond you formed with him, he will always be with you and I pray you find comfort in your precious memories.I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers, that sweet boy is at peace now, but his love will be sent to you for eternity.  Give Mia a kiss for me, she misses her brother so very much, and try to surround yourself with people who understand what you are going through, take care........RIP sweet Chessy, yoo are missed so very much and will be forever held in loving hearts, I pray you will find the heavens full of that enticing pizza you loved so much!

What a beautiful video!  I wish I had something like that to remember my soul cat, Rizzo.  Got him at 5 as well & had him for 8 years.  He has been gone for 1 yr 4 months but my heart still breaks for him every day.  I am so sorry for your loss!
