So, I saved my cat Mama about 6 years ago. She is a awesome addition to my little family, just her and I. Lol. Anyway I noticed Thursday night she started limping out of nowhere. So, I figured she hurt herself jumping or running around like she often does. Friday morning before I went to work she seemed fine when I got home she was limping again so I figured I would see how she was yesterday morning well, she was limping even more. So, I recently moved to Hightstown, NJ and hadn't found a vet yet. So I called twin rivers animal hospital. They got her right in for xrays. They said her patella bone is popping in and out and that is what is causing her limping. So, they offered me a series of shots that she'll have to have twice a week for i think 8 wks and cost $600 or surgery which will cost $1,500-2,000. Which I can't afford the surgery Im a waitress. I've read on here of surgeries only costing $500. So, if anyone has ANY info on these shots or some where more affordable. I love as a child Im sure everyone can relate. Thanks

One thing you can do is google low cost vet in my area...it may take some patience and it will require a bit of your time but when looking for low cost vet it is well worth it...you can also look to see if there is an ASPCA in your area...when calling around to these vets ask if they do sliding scale or will work with you on the costs...don't be afraid to ask...for us as we just moved to Florida I had to do some hunting and pecking and calling back a couple of times even to see if they price matched...my cat had her anal glands impacted...and I after about 3 hours if doing the above mentioned got her in to be seen with medication for less than $70...I hope this helps keep us posted on whst you find please...God bless you

Thank you so much for your advice. I will definitely use it. I felt like my heart was being ripped out yesterday when tg e took her for the xrays because I could hear her screaming when they were manipulating her leg to get the right xray. I had to walk out of the hospital hysterically crying.
Thanks so much I'll keep you posted. Btw my name is Lisa

Hi Lisa my name is Amber...and yes it is very hard sometimes to take our babies to the vet and listen to the meowl and cry...when we took our girl in for her anal glands the doctor had to stick his finger in her butt and pop them...she was shaking...but you know what cats are strong creatures...and they are so good at masking pain and hiding whats wrong with them...until it is noticeable when somethings wrong...[emoji]128008[/emoji][emoji]128049[/emoji]

@lisa24fd

How is your little girl? Were you able to find a cheaper vet and solution?
