Losing my kitty Black Butters to FIP

As I write this my beautiful Cat Black Butters is in his last stage of life., he has FIP ., I had never heard of it., then a week ago the Vet said that he is fatal with it., I am so distraught that I can hardly bare the sadness and thought of loosing him. My wife had a massive stroke 14 months ago and I am her care taker. Life is not fair, the innocent always bet the brunt of bad things. Ole Buuters was a rescue., that was thrown away declawed., he could hardly ever walk because his feet were butchered by the Vet., I do animal rescue everyday., no funding . No help. I help the helpless who depend on me. As I type this my grief is about to kill me., I would do anything for him. I help dogs., turtles , poisonous snakes crops the road., I feed a beautiful Fox every night at my back door. I am not a preacher but I have always felt if you believe anything about Noah's Ark., then you should realize that only the animals were saved., I understand why. Human suffering is done by humans., humans inflict all suffering on animals. I believe that in the Life after that they will be there as well. I believe that if God saved them on an Ark then they were more special than the people. If anyone is reading this here., then I know that you have sorrow in your heart for a lost Loved Animal., help others if you can., every single animal on Earth is in danger of extinction. God Bless you., I will miss Black Butters forever.

I'm so sorry you are losing your special Black Butters. Thank you for everything you do for animals in need. You and Black Butters will be in my thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.

Just reading your post reminded me of how compassionate some people truly are; you are a blessing not only to animals but to society.  I am so sorry for what you are going through.  I will keep you, your wife, and Butters in my prayers.  Please take comfort that you have made his world a special place filled with all the love and kindness he deserves.

FIP is a horrible disease, and I'm so sorry your Black Butters is succumbing to it.

Really sorry to hear of Black Butters condition. I pray that our Lord takes him gently and watches over you in your time of sorrow.

My heart cries for what you are going through, I know the pain you are feeling, I, too, wonder why the innocents and the loved in this world have to suffer.You will be blessed for your caring and your heart will be filled with the gratitude and love the little ones can bring to you, although it can seem so overwhelming at times you want to scream and run away. But your wife thanks you, the little fox thanks you, the snakes and the turtles and most of all Black Butters who received a wonderful home and your love and devotion when no one else seemed to care. Try to concentrate on what they brought into your life, you are richer for knowing them, then to have never had them in your life at all. Share your pain with people who understand, it will lessen the burden and it helps to let some of the pain escape from your soul. Kiss that beautiful boy and tell him again how much you love him, that is all he ever wanted, not what you can give him but yourself, your love, that is a treasure beyond compare to him.I applaud your selflessness, and I'll definitely pray for you to find peace and help with what you do, you are a good person in a bad world and we need so many more like you to make it a better place. Take care of yourself, it seems so overwhelming now, but you are bringing about so much good with what you do in that little corner of your world, God will surely bring good things your way, I'll pray for a miracle and for you to be rewarded for your suffering. Please keep on with your good deeds, so many love you and appreciate what you do!

I'm so very sad to read this. We lost our beautiful little Darcy last year to that horrible monster of a disease and I don't wish that on any cat.  It breaks my heart that your little Black Butters is suffering through this.  I wish you both peace, which I know is so hard to find.  You sound like such a compassionate, enlightened soul, that maybe Black Butters was brought to you to love him and take care of him through this. I've also thought Darcy was brought to us for that reason. As hard as it was to watch her suffer and lose her, at least she had someone who loved her at the end and not in a shelter.
