I am using PetAg powder kmr and last night when I made more milk for the day I did half water half pedialyte. She did not poo through the night or yet today so I'm hoping things are starting to clear up.

Her current weight is 13.3 oz from 10.7 on Saturday.

Vet advised to give her the antibiotic (amox) and check back in a couple days if it hasn't resolved.

Even with all this she is still super active and walking around really well.
whopping 2,6 oz, about 75grammes, in 3 days gives about 20g a day!    In the communist Russia she would be called for a "stachanowiec",  ie a worker whom does much over the regular  daily doses at work.

This alone shows she must be thriwing, after all, even if there are details telling so so.

And when you tell she is very active and walks well...

Continue to be observant and vigilant, but now you have earned the right to be optimistic, you and she.

Good news the diarrhea is gone and we're back to a more formed poo. Its still green but thinking once the antibiotic regimen is over we will be good to go! Thank you for all the help!

It would seem I spoke to soon. We'are back to the diarrhea and it's straight liquid with white spots in it. Almost like undigested formula. I'm waiting to hear back from the vet on what to do. I have officially decided that I am a kitten killer because I just can't seem to keep them healthy, no matter how I try. She's still active and gaining weight. I weighed her this morning and she was at 14.7 oz but that was after I fed her and she downed close to 2 tbls so I'm going to get a more accurate before she eats here soon.

You're not a kitten killer at all. You're getting them from rough starts and in questionable health and doing all that you can. Hoping that someone with more experience will be along to advise soon.

You're honestly doing a fantastic job. Really.

Thats what my husband told me too, but I still feel like crap about it. He has high hopes that she'll be fine but I'm having deja vu.

I just talked to vet and she will be going in today to give a poo sample and possibly distember shot and an antibiotic shot.

Here's to hoping that I caught it all soon enough so she makes it.

How was it, do you have access to goats milk?   Im not saying goats milk is really better than a good formula, but it may be the alternative which may make THE difference.  Especially if you manage to get raw goats milk.   Meyerbeer (spelling) has a good dry goats milk, useful here.  It can be easily send by mail.

Otherwise, try with so me good  probiotic.  Which one depends a little on what you do have access to in your local pet shop.

And yes, its very true, helping weak kittens in difficult situations is much more difficult and less promising, then helping healthy orphans.

Vaccines should not be given before 8 weeks/2 pounds, and particularly not when a kitten is already unwell!

I'm hoping this round of diarrhea is just from the antibiotics, and will form again soon.

You're doing a great job! Let us know what the vet says.

Its an old truth, when taking in antibiotics, its wise to get also some probiotic.  A mild unsweetened unflawored youghurt is classical here. Especielly if you find some brand with addec acidophilus and bifidus bacteria...  This way you get an entirely plausible mild probiotic - which also is OK food by itself.

I was just researching treatments for giardia and coccidia in another thread, and one mentioned green colored diarrhea associated with giardia.  I thought of you immediately.  It's common in cats who live outside and not usually a problem for adults but can be for kittens!  You said your vet was going to check a fecal and maybe one of these will show up.    Both of these things only show up in stool specimens sometimes, so just because they dont see oocysts doesn't mean the kitten doesn't have coccidia or giardia or both. Ponazuril and toltrazuril both work quickly and simply, whereas the old treatments of albon and metronidazole take much longer.   It is simple and quick, they have response in a day or two.  Here is the link to the other thread so you can see the links I included there.  Maybe this will help you too.

Vet went good her stool sample came back clean, no parasites and said she's about 3 weeks old. She didn't have any concerns with the poop because the latest stool sample was right consistency but green. I will be continuing with the amox for 4-5 days. The only concern she had was how bloated and hard her belly was (she had recently ate so that may have contributed but vet wanted to play it safe) so we will be attempting to switch her to a soft wet food within the next weeks depending on how she takes to it in hopes that will help with the bloated and hardness thinking it's a gas issue. I feel a lot better now and less of a kitten killer. Now to just find a name for her we all agree on!

You can use infant gas drops called Mylicon, which is simethicone, to help with the bloated tummy. Put a couple drops in the formula bottle.

Just be sure there are no artificial sweeteners in it.  Human products sometimes have them, and most are poisonous to cats.  Xylitol, for instance, that is in some chewing gum can really harm a cat.

Is It possible for cats to be bound up, but not constipated? The reason I ask is that she isnt having diarrhea but she poops at every feed and it's usually quite a bit. This last feed I was surprised one little body could hold that much poo.

She's gaining weight but I'm starting to think my scale is off because I weighed her this morning before her feed and she was at an even 15oz. Is it normal to her to gain so much so much fast?

And finally, any tricks on getting her to eat from a plate? I tried with her morning feed because it never fails that she thinks she starving in the morning even though she gets fed once through the night. I mixed the wet food with quite a bit of milk to make it slop consistency. Spread some around her mouth with my finger and then used my finger to giver her some. She attacked my finger trying to get it and when I offered the plate she turned away.

3-week old kittens are not ready to wean to soft foods yet. This comes after 4 weeks when they get baby teeth, and often not until 5 or even 6 weeks.

Tiny kittens poop a lot. They digest mom's milk and formula very quickly, and this is normal. When she begins eating solids she will poop solid stools a couple of times a day. As an adult cat she will poop once a day.

And yes, kittens on a good diet grow fast. She should weigh about one pound at 4 weeks old. Sounds like she's right on target.

It sounds like she's doing well!

The vet recommended it because of how hard and round her stomach was. And she does have teeth because my finger took quite the beating this morning. Because it didn't go so well today I plan on waiting a couple days and trying again.

And I'm glad to hear that about weight because she's a tank. As soon as we reach the 3 hour mark she starts making noise and trying to get attention. I bumped her up to 20 mls because she acted like 18 ml wasn't enough. She would keep trying to eat my finger or suckle my arm.

Oh, okay. Maybe try putting your finger on the plate and she'll go for your finger and discover the food on the plate. She'll probably catch on soon! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

It sounds as if she may have been backed up but now everything is moving since she is going at every feeding.  The last little one I raised would only poop once every 3-5 days but it was normal and healthy, so rare for me to have a kitten who manages to go from 10 days old to 8 weeks old and never had diarrhea!  This guy was very healthy.
