I've been wondering what breed my cat is. When we got her that said she was Persian/Himalayan but she doesn't really appear to look like them. She also just had 4 kittens (but sadly one was still born) and I'll include pictures of me hem to

Also if u have ideas for the kittens names I'd be happy to here them and here's the genders

The Mostly white one and tabby one are male
And the last black and white one is female

What cute little ones.  I think Mama is a domestic short hair of unknown origin, which is fine.  That is what I have and the vast majority of kitties here are the same 'breed' or domestic long hair of unknown origin.  I definitely don't see Persian/Himalayan.  They are actually the same breed, the Himis just have the color point gene.  They have long hair, fluffy tails and a flatter face.

Yes I agree that she is a domestic shorthair...I have a Persialayan... as I like to now call Persians/Himalayan...and she is definitely not...here is pik of my cats the one on the left is a Persialayan and the one on right is a Siamese...as for names hmmmm give me a few but the one with the little tail you could call nubby...nubsters...[emoji]128518[/emoji][emoji]128049[/emoji][emoji]128008[/emoji]

Momma and the splotched white bicolors are in the Harlequin pattern.  The other bicolor, blackie,  is a tuxedo.  As you see, they get the pattern from momma, whom is carrying the black and white pattern - which is fairly strong.

The tabby seems to be classic tabby - also called for marbled, blotched, bulls eye.  That pattern comes apparently from daddy.

so both momma and daddy are black and white bi-colors?   without any visible tabby markings?   In that case we must spread our observations into further circles.  Be it the janitor, the watchman, the postman??   Im joking just a little, there must be another one,  this is one of the litters with multiple fathers.

Tabby is dominant, and always show off on the carrying individual.     So there MUST be a tabby involved to procreate the little tabby.  Look if you have a classical tabby in the neigborhood.   After all, they arent so common as mackerel tabbies.  (i dont see clearly the kittens sides, but I think he is classical tabby)

OR poor daddy is innocent, it was the other fellow after all.

Tx for the further pics.  Ok, its now clear, momma has the tabby gene.  So the janitor was innocent after all, and the daddy IS the daddy.

Especially, if momma isnt not at all a black white bicolor, but a tabby-white bicolor, so someone must be the black donator.   And here we have our hero, the daddy!  The black parts come here really from dad, not from momma.  (even if momma probably does carry black she too, as we see on the darkest parts of her tabby pattern).

And yes, the kitten is a classical tabby.  Momma almost surely too, but we dont see it clearly, the white covers it.

(the mackerel tabby gene is stronger than the classical tabby gene, so theoretically if she has both the tabby genes, she will be the mackerel, but her kitten may be classic...  but this is extra course, you dont need to remember it if you arent striving for big A).

There may still be multiple fathers, but they are no longer necessary for us.

ps.  I see I was too quick looking at the first pics.  If I look close, already there we do see momma isnt black, she looks soner greyish.  and also, we see she is really a tabby.  It is even possible we can discover she is a classical tabby, on the big spot on her left side..

@Foxxycat and Willow1010

Yes female cats can get pregnant by up to 2 different cats...at least thats what I read when I googled it a few years ago when someone told me cats can get pregnant by multiple male cats...it does look like your cat does have some tabby in her...but the first thing I thought when I saw the kitties was 2 different dads I just didn't want to be disrespectful...ok be blessed meow [emoji]128008[/emoji][emoji]128049[/emoji]
