Have a female cat named Gizmo and I got her around September of 2015 i got when she was around 5-6weeks old recently she started showing signs of pregnancy her nipples have been getting bigger her belly is getting bigger she's been eating a lot more I kept her in the house every day I've had her until Mone day in April 2016 she ran out and she didn't come back for about 2 days the neighbor has a male cat that's not neutered and he stays outside I plan on getting her spayed if she isn't pregnant I made her an appointment but they're so booked that the earliest date they could spare is next week so I just need to know if she's pregnant or not I know the best thing to do is go to the vet but hes really busy so I'll just post pictures of her and I'd you think she's pregnant can you tell me about how far along she is? Thanks

Such a beautiful cat!  She looks very healthy and shiny.  Yes, they have a way of escaping when they are in heat which is why in rescue, we always require people to get their girls spayed before they are six months old.  They can get pregnant even younger than that, too.

We have a good collection of articles in the Cat Health section which you can access by scrolling up to the brown bar, clicking on Articles, and then choosing the Cat Health section and scrolling through the choices.  To make this super easy for you, I am copying the links regarding birth, delivery and newborns for you here.  After reading this information, let us know if you have any more questions.  And good luck with your approaching new arrivals.

You have the info, you have the cat, you know what she looked like before, and the first article shows you what to look for.  Have her nipples changed?  Chances are that if she got out was gone two days in a neighborhood with an intact male cat, she's probably pregnant, but we can't diagnose that over the internet at this stage.  If she is, then due date is about 9 weeks from that 3 day period in April.

Her nipples do seem to be what's called "pinking  up"

She is likely pregnant. It's obviously in the very earliest stages if she is pregnant.

Kittens are VERY VERY expensive, and can be hard to find good homes for, so I'd personally advise getting her fixed now and the kittens aborted. It will cost way less to get her fixed than to raise kittens.

Of course if you decide to keep them, we are here to support you too :)

Around how many weeks do you think she could be I don't know what day she was let out just that it was around April I just don't want to have to be going into this blind I forgot to mention earlier that I have homes for up to 5 kittens if there are anymore I will take them under my wing. They will all get their shots and be spayed and neutered as soon as possible.

Make sure you research or personally know the possible adopters!
There's no way to tell how far along she online, we aren't vets. A vet would be able to tell you more precisely.
Nipples can start pinking up around 3 weeks along, but a better indicator would be when you first see and feel the kittens move. When you first see that, it's normally 2 or 3 weeks until the due date.

Ok thanks I see the kittens move aside from her breathing it's not very pronounced though it's like soft pushes against her stomach wall.

It's really too early then for you to be seeing movement. Perhaps you're just seeing her stomach moving with her breathing. She's about four and a half weeks.

Cat gestation is about 9 weeks. With the average being about 65 days. Mine gave birth at 67 days. They can deliver at 63 days to 68 days, give or take a few days without concern.

You typically start counting the day after she mated, so I've done a little math for you :)

The dates I give are between the 63rd and 67th days along.

If she mated the 25th, she's due between the 28th of June and the 2nd of July

If she mated the 29th, she's due between the the 2nd of July and the 6th of July

So as a widespread, she should be due between the 28th of June and the 6th of July, give or take a few days on either side.

So in the meantime, you can take some steps to prepare

A basic kitten kit should include:

Clean towels and wash cloths

A scale (kitchen scale, best measuring grams, can be found at walmart for $10 or so, they go up in price as they get better)

KMR (kitten milk replacer) The powdered kind is best. PetAG, Royal canin, GMC, and Nutrivet are pretty good, just stay away from hartz, and seargant brands, they are known for making kittens sick. ($15-$20)

Needless syringe, nursing bottles in case you have to supplement ($5 on amazon)

More in depth would include:

puppy pads for a kitten kit

a large dog cage if you don't have a good area to keep the kittens

latex gloves

Unflavored, uncoated dental floss in case you have to tie off an umbilical cord

heating pad or rice sock to help keep kittens warm

a spreadsheet/folder to record kitten weights daily

small litter box

You should also take some time in the upcoming weeks (no need to rush) to prepare multiple nursing areas for her to keep her and her kittens. These areas should be dark, easy for YOU to access, quiet, and low traffic areas. Mama would probably prefer them to be snug. Ideal places could be a closet floor, a rubbermaid container, a LARGE dog cage, a spare bathroom/bathtub, a dresser drawer, etc.

Ultimately she will choose where she gives birth, mine did all over the floor, she was stressed and running around with kittens dangling out of her! But you can prepare an area for afterwards, for the kittens to be cared for in.

Mama would benefit by being fed a bowl of KMR every day in the last weeks of her pregnancy, she should be fed an unlimited supply of dried food, and wet food several times a day. In the last weeks, switch her to wet kitten food. She should eat wet kitten food while nursing too.

You should also research how to help her in case of emergency during birth, in case you cannot make it to the vet in time. There are articles here you've been linked to that are helpful, be sure to read over them if you haven't :)

I'm certain it's moving kittens and not just her breathing. Which leads me to believe she must have gotten out sometime while I was at school or gone and someone from the household just let her back in. So now it's just a guessing game.

How's everything going? Is mama doing ok? I don't have any advice, as I'm about to go through the same thing with my girl soon.

So far she had the first and second that took a little time then I thought she was done so I cleaned all the blood and discharge and gave her a nice place for the kittens. Just as I finished she had two kittens within seconds this is her first litter so far she has had four and maybe more no telling she keeps popping them out but it's late and I'm tired so I'm just gonna sleep and check up on her and the kittens every few hours. She had two tuxedo one calico and one that looks exactly like her

She was further along than originally thought! Make sure you get the weights on them when you wake up, and be sure they are all nursing properly. :) Glad to hear everything went smoothly

So 4 kittens? How is everyone today? Are the kittens latching and nursing well?

Make sure mom has plenty of wet food, dry food, and water right near her nest so she does not have to go far to eat. She needs all the nutrition she can get for nursing. Put her litter box nearby too.

Give us an update when you can. [emoji]128522[/emoji]
