Okay, so the story is, I adopted this little kitten off of craigslist. The woman who gave her to me told me the kitten was 6 weeks old. She had previously told me a certain date when the kitten would be ready to pick up, and she contacted me again, telling me I could pick her up 2 days sooner. When I brought her home, everyone in my family noticed that she was unusually small. She doesn't know how to do much, she walks/wobbles around, meows a lot, and sucks on my finger. Today, she started pawing at me and rolling around a bit. Now I am questioning if maybe she is 4-5 weeks old? I am unsure.

She will not eat soft food from a dish, but she will eat it off of my finger. She doesn't eat much though. I started feeding her kmr from a bottle, and she seems to do okay with that. I am a little concerned because she has not pooped yet and it's been almost a full day. Oh, and she sleeps a lot. Any suggestions?

Hello, and welcome!

Could you please add some photos so we can help you determine her age? She certainly sounds quite young.

The main thing now is frequency with feedings. How much and how often are you feeding her? What are you feeding her? Does she have teeth? I wouldn't worry about the pooping yet, but it wouldn't hurt to add a few drops of olive oil to her bottles.

I put an avocado next to her so you can compare. She is very small. Every few hours I let her drink from the bottle. After a while, she seems disinterested. I am mixing milk replacer I got from petsmart and water together in a bottle. Yes, she has teeth. This is my first time taking care of a kitten, so I am open to criticism or advice. Thanks.

She looks to be about 4 weeks old to me, if that. She's really tiny. I would feed every 3 hours for so, and aim for 12-15ml per feeding. If she'll eat more, that's always great.

What is the brand of kmr? Is it powdered?

It is called GNC pets ultra mega premium milk replacer. Yes, in powder form. That is actually about as much as she has been drinking.

Keep an eye on the nipple.  It doesn't take long for a kitten with teeth to bite through it.

That's a good formula and a good amount. Definitely check the nipple before each feeding. I wouldn't go longer than three hours between feedings, even through the night, for now. Is she using a litter box at all?

Keep offering her the wet food off your finger. You can make a mush out of kitten food and kmr that she can lap up. She should come around to it soon.

Weighing her daily would be very helpful. You're doing great!

Ah, but she is a point, "siamese mix"  so she will always have blue eyes.  The nuance, the shade, may change, but not the color as such.

You have been thinking and doing all right.  But till you are entirely sure she is fully stabilized, growing etc, better with small portions but often.

I mean, if you notice she dont manage to take much at a time, but gets tired and sleeps.

How much to give during a 24 hour?

The total amount of  GNC / goats milk is  8ml/oz / day.  Thus, if she is say 600g, gives about 20oz. gives 20x8 = 160 ml GNC or goats milk  during the day.  How much each time depends in much how often you give...

Soon you will need to begin and entice her with more solid foods, alike canned cat food, baby food, minced meat (but not raw pork), pate style is always good.

Royal Canin has a good momma and baby dry food.

That is more energy tight.  If you dilute it with water, the count will be roughly the same.  But if you give it as it is,  you dont need as many ml...

Yes, she is using her litter box. Sometimes she looks like she is falling asleep while using it though, and she lets her face touch the litter. Also, her stomach area feels a little big, I do not know if that is normal. She really goes after the bottle, should I give her as much as she wants? Or would that be overfeeding her?

So she really is a siamese mix? I asked the woman who gave her to me, and she told me that the kitten wasn't. Anyway, thank you for all the advice.. she has been very playful lately so hopefully that is a good sign!

It is difficult to overfeed a growing kitten, so as much as she wants.

Has she pooped yet?

If not, add a drop or two of olive oil to her bottle.

Its difficult to say for sure from one so so photo, but for me the photo is screaming  "point, point".   I wrote "siamese-mix" because many people dont know what point meants here, but almost all know what a siamese-mix is.   also, if he is a red point, you perhaps arent seeing much the darkened points.  And if he is cremé point - it may be very difficult unless you know exactly what to look for.  You just think this is some sort of a white cat, although the skin is more of verrrry diluted brownish sooner than pure white.   Isnt that so??

But thereby not said there is any siamese in the nearest 50 generations.   Its enough the parents were carriers of the siamese gene, they themselves can have any looks. and suddenly- in their litter, one of the littermates is a point - a "siamese-mix".

I presume it was what this woman meant - as far as she knows, the parents werent no siameses, they could have any looks...

A little nice miracle of the nature.   :)
