Good morning!
 And Happy Friday!
Long weekend coming up as Rick and I both have Monday off work.

What do you use for your everyday dishes?

I'm a big Fiesta fan, so we use Fiesta for our dishes. We have a lot of the serving pieces as well as quite a few of the other pieces. Sometimes I'll set the table in nothing but Fiesta Periwinkle Blue, but then other times, I'll use a different color for each place setting and make the table really colorful. We use Fiesta outside at the picnic table, too.

I love doing ceramics and up until 2010 I used to rent out studio space and make my own mugs, bowls and dishes. I mainly use stuff I've made myself. It's quite fun thinking,

"This salad will look really good in the tenmoku bowls" or "If I'm going to make pumpkin soup I really should eat it from the cobalt blue dishes. Orange and blue go so well together."

I'm much better at ceramics than I am at cooking. Even if (when) I ruin the food at least the dishes look good.

we use salmon falls pottery and pfaltzgraff pottery. But usually we use paper plates and silverware. We don't like doing tons of dishes. I don't have big parties so not sure I have any serving dishes. I don't have much room in the kitchen for storing too much kitchenware and lately I have gotten rid of half of the plates and bowls we don't use.

Most of our crockery has come from market stalls and charity shops...for some weird reason :slant: We have some beautiful handmade bowls and mugs from a local art shop though, and I have some Dalton bowls I was given for my birthday a few years ago. I also have some multicoloured Fairtrade handpainted stuff too, and an Emma Bridgewater melamine soup bowl, as well as some big pasta/salad bowls from a couple of supermarkets that I got on a whim because I liked the shapes.

I have a set of stoneware dishes from Pier1. It's kind cream colored with a small branch of flowers.

Fiestaware here also!!!

I have something like service for 20 lol. Ok, maybe 18. IDK - I collect the colors although haven't in the past few years because my cabinets are totally overfilled with it.  I also have many other pieces aside from the basic dinner set.  I even have a candlestick that is worth about $700 last time I checked. I paid $10 for it at Bloomingdales about 15 years ago; it was a special edition in lilac.

We live on paper here most days. I work long hours and can't be bothered to deal with doing a ton of dishes after dinner - nor can my fiance.  I know it sucks for the environment but doing dishes is bad for my mood

I use Corelle ware.  The set I have is square plates with a branch of cherry blossoms on it.

I mostly use plain white corelle. I do have a set of stoneware which is old. Just a regular run of the mill set...

just what i need for that meal, that day. i have a bunch of mismatched plates, bowls, and etc. and i have some corningware dishes that have lids -- they're oven and microwave safe (the bowls are, the lids aren't oven safe).

i have corelle deep cereal type bowls for the cats water dishes. i figured they'd be much less likely to shatter (as easily) than regular dishes.

Corelle isn't very delicate, but when it does break, it shatters into the most horrible tiny little shards that are so small that you will NEVER find them all! Ask how I know ;).

I bought a Pfaltzgraff set a long time ago, and those are still my main dishes, although a lot have broken. The big plates are yellow-rimmed, the smaller plates are blue and flower-shaped, and the bowls and mugs are yellow and blue. I also have picked up various other dishes here and there. I have some blue-rimmed stoneware plates I got at Walmart, some blue glass dessert plates, some owl-shaped mugs (love them!). I'm not fancy, whatever holds the food! :D

I'm so old-fashioned.  I use Blue Willow from Heritage Mint.  Long ago, I had a set of Corelle Spice of Life that I adored, but it is long gone.

We use Corelle here also (cats included).  I can't think of the pattern name; but it has a blue edge and purple flowers.  I also have a set of the classic white dishes.  They were less expensive than the patterned; so we saved a little money by doing half and half when we replaced the dishes from DH's bachelor days.

Oh I know how you know!
We've only broken 1 bowl and it was when it slipped out of DH's hand one morning when he was unloading the dishwasher and it hit the rest in there.  I caught a sliver in my foot on the other side of the kitchen.

They are still my favorite!

When Rick and I first got married, his mother bought our first set of dishes. It was a very basic white, Heritage by Pfaltzgraff. We used that for a long time. Then Mom gave us a huge set of Flair dishes (brown with beige and tan highlights) and we had that forever. Then I started collecting Fiesta (I grew up with Fiesta; my mother had a ton of the stuff and this was the old Fiesta that I would sell my soul to have now) and I buy new place settings when they come up with the new colors.Rick's mother bought me a ton of Periwinkle Blue, but I got tired of the same color all the time, so we started getting the new colors. I love Fiesta.

The old stuff is worth literally a small fortune.

Winchester Winchester I only have one piece of Fiesta Ware in blue. I love it. It belonged to my stepmother and that makes it really special. I used to have a set of Our Country by Newcor. I had all the pieces, clock, paper towel holder, salt and peppers, carafe. I got a wild hair and sold it. How I do wish I had it back. Now I am using a set called Red Willow by Churchill and a set called Colonial Homestead by Royal. It is pretty, but it chips easily. I do put it in the dishwasher, and it seems to hold up okay.

I hate when corolla breaks... My floor is so hard. If you drop something it automatically breaks. Yes, Corelle breaks into very sharp pieces.. like shards...I have broken so many, that I am seriously thinking of getting some melamine dishes. i have carpal tunnel and a bit of arthritis in my hands. I drop so many things...
