How would you describe my baby boy?

This is my baby Luca, he's 4 years old and I know he's a DLH I'm just not sure how else to describe him? Hoping a kind soul on here can help out.

He's a beautiful BLACK SMOKE!  If you shaved him, he would be white.  Smokes have hairs that are tipped like an ermine, the base is white, the ends are black, and it gives a wonderful rippling effect.  Often they also show a hint of tabby markings to add to their beauty.  They are related to silvers, but they have more black than white on their hair shafts and silvers have more white than black.  It's not an unusual color in the world of purebreds but much rarer in the realm of normal unpedigreed cats.  Here is a description.  Then you can search Google for Black Smoke Cats and find more pictures.

Thank you so much!! Yes, he is white underneath. Silly boy ran in front of a car a couple years ago and fractured his pelvis - his butt had to get shaved so a metal plate and some screws could be attached to his pelvis.

So glad you were able to get him repaired after the car incident.  He's very beautiful.
