I brought my cat Rosie to get neutered yesterday, the vet explained to me that while she was being operated on she refluxed while under anasthetic and she vomiited, I had her fasting since the night before but she had apparently hair balls and other foreign materials inside her ??? Anyways the situation is now that there's every chance some of the vomit/foreign materials has gone into her lungs and caused an infection throughout , so the vet has said they need to put her on an ivf drip to flush everything out of her but if this doesn't work we will have to talk about other options as in put her to sleep!!! Has anyone ever experienced this? They said it's a rare case [emoji]128546[/emoji][emoji]9785[/emoji]️

No, I haven't had this happen to a cat, but the diagnosis sounds logical. I wouldn't give up on her yet; the drip will help. The vet was just giving you a worst-case scenario in case everything went south, but that doesn't mean it's going to happen. She may well recover and be just fine.

How is Rosie doing?  It IS rare, but sometimes these things just happen
.

Hoping she is strong enough to fight this and pulls through.
