A local rescue I know of recently removed 3 feral cats from a neighbourhood due to very real threats of being shot by one of the home owners in the neighbourhood. They are temporarily being held in cages because as of right now there is no place for them to go, but they can't stay since they are VERY feral adults. I think the rescue has asked around to see if there was anyone who could take them in as barn cats. If they did, no one responded affirmatively. Any other suggestions for these poor kitties? I imagine they must be terrified and miserable!

You have not included your location in your profile so I don't know where you are located.  I do know of some receptive farms in MY area, but I'm in Georgia about 40 miles north of Atlanta.

My only other suggestion is to see if they can find another TNR group somewhere within driving distance and possibly relocate these cats to a managed colony.  They can ask Alley Cat Allies, the national group, if they have any suggestions for a local group.

I have some other thoughts, i.e. burn down the offending homeowner's house and get rid of him, but that's only wishful thinking.

Put ads up for anyone wanting barn cats. Usually you can find someone who will meet basic requirements (keeping the cats confined for a few weeks, providing food and water, etc.) who is willing to take spayed/neutered and vaccinated cats.

You might try asking some local church groups. I hope that I don't start a "cat fight", but my experiences have been most successful with the Methodist, 7th Day Adventist and Unitarian parishoners - the ones who seem to feel most that God gave them 'stewardship' as opposed to 'dominion' over His Creation.

Also, you could ask the local 4-H and FFA leaders if they have any suggestions.

Please keep us updated on your efforts and bless you for your concern for those helpless cats. I am glad that they are out of harm's way but sad that they are in captivity. Poor things cant understand :(
