We just took my cat to the vet today and found out that she's expecting! There are at least 2 kittens the vet said but my cat wouldn't hold still long enough to see more. My female cat is a tortie and my male cat is an orange and white Siemese mix. My torties mom was black with white paws. Not sure of the dad. The whole litter I got her from was tortie except one kitten was black. I'm just wondering what my kittens may look like? Here's my two cats!

With that combination, you can have about everything!  You can have black, orange, white, tuxedo, tortie and tabby, and if she happens to carry any recessive for the pointed gene (i.e. Siamese coloring), you could have pointed kittens as well.  Here are our basic learning links for you to study while you are waiting for your litter.  In the meantime, it would be a good time to get the dad cat neutered before his pee gets all stinky and he starts getting overly interested in sex and spray marking his territory.  Did you know your girl can get pregnant again even while she's nursing kittens?  You could have a houseful before you know it!

We have a good collection of articles in the Cat Health section which you can access by scrolling up to the brown bar, clicking on Articles, and then choosing the Cat Health section and scrolling through the choices.  To make this super easy for you, I am copying the links regarding birth, delivery and newborns for you here.  After reading this information, let us know if you have any more questions.  And good luck with your approaching new arrivals.

This will be her only litter, correct? Having kittens is hard on the body.

Dad should be fixed as soon as possible as he can be fertile weeks after his surgery, and mama can get pregnant as soon as 1 week after giving birth.

You could have many colors, with mom being a tortie, you could theoretically have every color kitten!

The males will take after mom, they probably won't be tortie (that's VERY rare in males) but they could be orange, black, white, black and white, tabby pattern, solid, bi color, etc. The females will likely be a mixture but they will all be adorable!

Are you planning on keeping the kittens?
