I know there are many many variables involved. But when choosing a kitten (of course they would be altered). Is a male more likely to spray in the house ? I've always been afraid of that.

Not if neutered at an appropriate age, no. I actually have more females who spray than males . It's a complicated social/communication thing.

Wow ! I do know that girls can but I would have thought boys were more likely to do so under stress etc. thanks for your input

We have two 14 week old boys, who are getting fixed when they're 17 weeks, and so far no signs of spraying. As willowy said, it's all about social structure and territory, but as long as any kitten doesn't feel their space is threatened, there should be no fear of spraying.
