Hello! This is first post after visiting this site many times for cat nutrition advice. Over the past few months I've learned a lot about cat food, so thank you everyone.

I've been feeding my 3 year old cat(8lbs) NV raw chicken bites and Soulistic golden fortune or sweet salutaions, half of each, totalling around 2 ounces at each meal. I was hoping she would eat the NV alone, but she is more enthusiastic about eating when the Soulistic (meat and fish flavors) are mixed in. Also I leave out a small amount of NV kibble out, but she has never been a big kibble eater. She eats at most, a tablespoon of kibble a day.
I've read a lot about the benefits of raw and canned food and I've also read about Soulistic being high in carbs. So my question is, should I keep her on this diet or try to find something else? I've been looking at Tiki Cat and thinking about trying the mixed flavors (meat and fish flavors) but should I worry about her preference for fish flavors? I would love to hear your suggestions. What she likes about Soulistic is the gravy, of course! but this is the only only combo I've found where she literally licks the plate clean. I've tried many other foods (wellness, rad cat, halo, nv canned, etc). So, should I stay with this or keep looking??

NV also makes raw medallions. They're hard to find, though. Chain pet stores that sell NV raw won't have it, just the little 1.25 lb bag of Raw Bites. Check independent pet stores and ask if they can order you the medallions or the larger 3.75 lb bag of Raw Bites.

A diet of NV raw and canned food is just fine
It sounds like the Soulstic is just to get the cat to eat the raw? I wouldn't worry about carbs unless your cat needs to be on a low carb diet to manage a medical condition. A small amount of carbs daily isn't going to be harmful. I suggest sticking to foods that have less than 15% carbs as much as possible. Here's a chart: http://catinfo.org/docs/FoodChartPublic9-22-12.pdf

Have you tried other toppers to get your cat to eat the raw? Crushed up freeze dried raw food or freeze dried raw treats often work.

If your cat isn't really eating the dry food then you don't need to feed it
