Hi,

I'm using the Balanceit Feline K supplement. However, the recipe requires corn oil because it's high in linoleic acid. I'm not thrilled about using corn oil, but the only alternative (as it has a similar fatty acid profile) is walnut oil. I've heard that walnuts are poisonous to pets. Has anyone here fed their cat walnut oil?

Why not just skip the oil entirely? It doesn't seem important to be considering its just used to help cook the meat.

I have doubts about the safety of walnut oil for cats. Same with hemp, avocado and almond oils to name a few which I have on hand myself. I can't state for certain that they're dangerous, but they don't seem right to me.
Also, a lot of those "alternate" nut/seed oils have a low smoke point and shouldn't be used for frying meat. They're more for adding flavour after stuff has been cooked or in salads etc.
